I recently received a phone call from someone claiming there was an issue with my computer. I informed them I don’t even own one, and they promptly cut the line.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from a computer help centre, saying they were getting error reports from my Windows machine.

Thought I’d have a laugh and booted up a virtual Windows XP setup. Hit Windows+R and typed in eventvwr.

I was bounced around to multiple supervisors who seemed utterly baffled by the differences between XP and the more modern versions like 7, 8, and 10. They wanted me to look for errors, to which I replied there weren’t any. They insisted I scroll through to locate them, so I obliged.

After reading a few out, they then asked if I understood their meaning. I confidently said yes, and before I knew it, they hung up on me.

Though it might seem like a pointless exercise for me, I reckon it’s a bit of a time waster for them as well. Here’s hoping that as we keep this up, they’ll eventually catch on!

Received a call today from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting that there was an issue with my computer. They were quite keen for me to power it up and adhere to their guidance. I politely declined their request without being rude, but let's just say, I wasn’t playing along with their game.

I've been getting calls from this number multiple times a day-sometimes as many as four! Thankfully, I’ve got a BT8500 call-blocker, and it seems like the caller doesn’t even attempt to get past it, which makes me think it's just an automated system. It's quite vexing, to say the least!
