I always check my BT caller ID and listen to the 1571 voicemail first before I even pick up these irritating calls. This number seems to be coming from Santiago in Chile. Honestly, get yourself a phone with caller ID so you can spot these nuisance calls. BT told me directly they won't ring you, only get in touch through their online emails. Must be a scam. Hopefully, these muppets will figure it out one day.

I got a few calls from someone saying they were from BT, telling me my internet had some kind of virus. When I said I don’t even use a Windows PC, the woman on the line sounded annoyed. I then said I'd just ring BT directly and after that, she just ended the call on me. Quite annoying!

I've been getting constant calls from them. A few times I pretended not to understand, and one of them ended up swearing at me, probably in some Indian language. Another time, someone just told me I’m crazy. Now they just ring and then hang up as soon as I pick up. I’ve been meaning to block the number but have no idea how to do it!

I got a call yesterday and another one today from a woman with a foreign accent claiming she was calling from BT about an internet problem. I asked to speak to her manager and they said none were free, but then another person came on insisting it was really BT. I stayed polite but made it clear I knew it was a scam and said I’d report them. This morning, it ended with her telling me 'Ma’am, just go away', and I couldn’t resist replying, 'You as well!'

Got another one thinking it would be hilarious to mess around with me. Acting daft like "Press the windows key." "I don't see any key with a windows logo, all I see is Shift and Ctrl though?" "No, the key between Ctrl and Alt." "Oh, you mean the one with the arrow and lines on it?" "Nah mate, the other side, the one with four little flags." "I can't spot any four flags anywhere?" This went on for a bit. I figured if I could keep them hanging for 10 minutes while I scrolled through Facebook, that's a couple less calls I’d have to deal with.

Some bloke claiming to be from BT rang me thrice, saying my internet was hacked and needed to get into my computer. I played the fool for a good while just to drag it out (wasting my time too, I guess). When I finally asked if they were about to mug me off, they dropped the call.

They’re pretty persistent, I’ll give them that. Last week I got about 14 calls from this number in just two days, and today they’ve already rung me 4 times. It’s straight to the blocked list now. I seriously hope they’re having fun wasting their own time.

Over the past couple of days, we've had this number ring us like 14 times! Thankfully, our BT8500 phone stops it from coming through. Would be great if it could fire back a cheeky message or something. Honestly, purchasing these phones was one of the smartest things we’ve done recently. This number has been ringing me non stop, and the people calling sound Indian. I even took it up with the head of BT. His team said it’s definitely a scam, but all they can do is tell you to pay for caller ID and block calls and such. They say there’s nothing they can do with these so-called 'international' calls. It’s really poor. I reckon anyone getting these calls should email the CEO, Warren Buckley, at [email protected][###] - maybe if enough of us make a fuss, something might change. But honestly, I’m not holding out much hope.

I’ve had this number ring me up about four times already. The caller sounded to me like they might be Indian and kept saying they were from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. When I asked them to prove they knew who I was by giving my name, they couldn't do it. Ended up telling them to buzz off in no uncertain terms.

Sounds a bit like an Indian outfit, but the people on the line had terrible grammar and their spiel didn’t sound genuine at all. Maybe BT is behind this, using call centres in India - that would make sense. When I asked for a contact number so I could call them back, they just dropped the call. Would be quite funny to flip it on them and request their server’s IP instead.

Yesterday this number 005627463510 rang me just as I was about to leave the house. They called me 4 times again today, pretending to be from BT and saying my broadband had a virus. They offered to fix it if I gave them access to my computer. I’ve checked with BT loads of times and they never called me. I spoke to an Indian lady who told me there were several departments and I ended up in the wrong one trying to find out who actually called me. Avoid answering this number at all costs, it’s definitely a scam from people who’d rather cheat than do a proper, honest job.

She told me there was an issue with my system and insisted I needed to be at my computer. After a bit, I told her I work with computer systems for a living, and then she just cut me off. Another time, this person rang me up pretending to be from BT, saying I had viruses on my computer. They even gave me some dodgy 'BT reference number'. I decided to mess about with them for a bit, asking them over and over to explain what viruses they were on about. I told them there’s no chance I’d let them get into my computer because it was obvious they were just making stuff up. I told them to keep the volume down because it was really loud and annoying. Then the person got all annoyed and started raising their voice, so I just ended the call. This number got reported by me too, I got a call from a man introducing himself as John from BT's tech team, but I ended the call straight away. Later when I rang BT, they told me they never ring you out of the blue over a fault - they only get in touch after you've made the initial complaint and then just as a follow-up. So yeah, sounds dodgy to me.
