It's definitely a scam, and BT won't block the call for you on its own. The best trick I've found is when your phone rings, just don't say anything for about five seconds. Usually, they'll hang up after that.

Got called by this number twice today. First time, the person said they were from BT and needed to fix a technical issue on my computer - right, like I’m falling for that rubbish. The initial call came from 02032903135, which I’ve already reported. Rang BT myself and, as I thought, they had nothing to do with it; BT staff were very helpful. Funny enough, just as I’m writing this, they rang again. When I asked why BT themselves wouldn’t recognise the caller, the bloke still tried to get my internet passwords. I told him I’d call 999, and he ended the call sharpish!

Received a call from this number earlier today, but it didn’t appear on my caller ID. I managed to trace it back through 1471. There was quite a lengthy silence before a foreign voice greeted me. I decided to cut the call.

I received a call from this number at 11:38, and I had a call from 05921 just the day before.

Someone called saying they were from TalkTalk tech support. I didn’t trust it and ended the call straight away. Then I rang TalkTalk myself on their official number. It’s definitely a scam - these people try to get onto your computer by making you download software so they can mess about with your account or steal your login info. Watch out!

I got a call with an automated voice that only said “goodbye.” The number started with 55, which I think is Brazil’s country code. But I’m not really sure if 0055961 is actually part of the phone number or what.

I got two calls from this number today. Didn’t pick up though, felt a bit fishy and like it might be a scam.
