Had a feeling this number wasn’t legit at all, so I just blocked it straight away. No clue who it was anyway.

This morning at precisely 9:29, I received a call from this number, yet the caller didn’t bother to leave a message. Quite peculiar!

This number keeps ringing me, but whenever I answer, there’s no one on the line. What bugs me the most is that my number is totally new (I barely remember it myself) and it’s supposed to be unlisted. How on earth did they get hold of it? Is there a way to block them?

I received a rather alarming phone call earlier today from a gentleman who appeared to be from the Indian subcontinent. He claimed that my computer was under attack and threatened to shut down in a mere ten minutes. I decided to end the conversation rather swiftly, and I must say, my computer remains unscathed. As someone who has suffered a stroke, I find these kinds of calls quite unsettling, though I’d wager they must frustrate him more than they do me! Is there anyone out there who genuinely takes these sorts of scams to heart?

I had a rather odd phone call this morning, just before noon. An Asian-accented woman was on the line; my wife answered with a friendly hello. They exchanged pleasantries, but then, out of the blue, the caller abruptly hung up. Quite strange!

Well, to be honest, I’m rather relieved I was out and about at 10:39 when this number decided to give me a ring earlier today. The thing is, I expect they’ll make another attempt, but I'm on high alert now! Big thanks to those who shared their experiences beforehand.

My 84-year-old mother receives daily calls from this number, and it's becoming quite bothersome. The last time they rang, they inquired about the products we use in our house and even if we have a dog!

I received a rather peculiar phone call from a lady with an accent suggesting she hails from the Indian subcontinent. She questioned whether I'd been on my computer at 10 o’clock the previous evening, claiming that a couple of individuals (Peter Jones and George Thompson, no less) had attempted to send a fax to my IP address, but evidently, there was some sort of hiccup. When I inquired about my IP address, the one she mentioned didn’t match up with mine at all. It seems they're becoming increasingly ingenious in their efforts to con unsuspecting individuals. It's wise to know your own IP address and challenge them to provide theirs too. If they can't get it right, it's pretty clear they're trying to pull a fast one. Should they be spot on, politely thank them for the heads-up, bid them farewell, and then conduct your own thorough research.

I keep getting calls from folks claiming to be from Microsoft or Windows, telling me my computer’s got a serious problem. They usually say their name’s John or something similar, with a strong Asian accent. They always ask me to switch on my PC. One time, they said they were from BT about my internet, but I haven’t had a BT deal in over 15 years. I told the woman “that’s a brand new one” and she just hung up without bothering to ring back.

I received a call regarding a supposed virus infection on my computer. When I insisted I didn't have any issues and inquired about their identity, they rudely told me to "bugger off, you silly woman." It's incredibly annoying, as they persist in ringing me up four times daily! I want them reported and to ensure they stop bothering me.

I've received two calls today, but there wasn't anyone on the line - just silence before they disconnected.

For months now I've been getting loads of calls from this number, like several times each day. Today I lost my patience and told them to stop calling me. They ended up being really rude and even left some nasty messages on my answerphone. I've tried everything to get them off my back - hanging up straight away, letting the call go to voicemail, nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how to make them stop?

He told me there were messages coming from my computer, and I was like, what computer? I don’t own one. Then he asked if I was sat in front of it. I got a bit annoyed and said again, what computer? I don’t have a computer! He just hung up on me. Well, that’s a bit rude if you ask me. ;)

I received a call on 07/03/16 where an Asian woman rang my elderly grandparents thrice, insisting that their computer was in a 'critical' condition. She refused to disclose her identity or the name of her company. It became quite unpleasant, as she turned rather rude and aggressive. Thankfully, my grandparents, being in their 80s, didn’t get swindled by this nonsense!

I got a call from this number on the 29th of October but I wasn’t home to answer. Weird thing is, they didn’t leave a voicemail or anything. They haven’t tried ringing me again since, but honestly, I’m gonna block them next time I check my phone settings.

Got a call from some bloke wanting me to look at my computer screen and stuff, really rude guy. Felt like a total scam and he just wouldn’t stop ringing me back. I hung up on him telling him I knew it was dodgy, but he still called three times one after the other. Honestly, it was pretty annoying and made me feel quite harrassed.

I received a phone call today from this number. It was yet another call from a man with a foreign accent, but I could hardly make out what he was saying. I decided to call him out on it, suspecting it was a scam, and promptly ended the call. Upon looking into the number later, I noticed it had an additional initial zero, like 0005274... and so forth.

Had a phone call today from someone claiming my computer had an issue. Told them I was just leaving and would call back later, then shut down my PC. Got caught out by this scam before, they managed to access my computer info - luckily not my bank stuff. Still, I had to pay to get the malware sorted and ended up changing all my passwords.

I received a call earlier today while I was busy in the control room for Avon and Somerset police. The caller asked me for the second and third characters from our Microsoft password. He made a few rather clumsy attempts before ultimately declaring, “You’re an idiot!” I quickly responded, clarifying that was not our password and warned him that I would be reporting him for attempted fraud.

Earlier today, precisely at 16:15 on the 29th of October, 2015, I received a call from a chap with an Asian accent. He informed me that there was an individual attempting to infiltrate my computer system to access crucial details from my emails and claimed that my device would face a crash by tonight. He insisted that I should sit at my computer so he could demonstrate how this hacker was supposedly attempting to breach my security. When I told him I wasn’t interested and that he was merely wasting his breath, he became rather annoyed and abruptly ended the conversation.

Had a couple of those IT scam calls within just 40 minutes. I run a business, and honestly, I don’t need this kind of hassle. When you don’t pick up, they just might ring back and then the number pops up as coming from overseas. BT charges enough already, they ought to have better ways to block these annoying calls.

Received a rather suspicious call earlier today. The bloke on the line claimed he was from Microsoft and insisted my computer was on the verge of crashing tonight. Apparently, he’d got hold of some error reports and could sort everything out if I handed over my log-in details. I could smell a rat from the moment he started talking, so I pressed him for more information, and before long, he just cut off the call. Quite the cheek, if you ask me!

This evening, on Monday the 31st of August, I received a call from a rather foreign-sounding woman using the number above. She introduced herself as a representative from Microsoft and claimed to be phoning from 14 Hanover Street, London. Her aim was to alert me about some scam related to Microsoft computers, and she insisted she could assist me in dodging this issue if I provided her with some details regarding my computer. Sensing that this might be a con, I requested her number, expressing that I would return her call once I booted up my machine. She was rather evasive and repeated her London address instead. At that point, I decided to terminate the call. Shortly after, my phone rang again, but I chose to ignore it. It rang a further two times with the display showing ‘02125’ on both occasions. Since that incident, there have been no other calls of a similar nature.

Greetings!

Earlier today, around 13:10 (27th June), I received a call on my landline here in York from a chap purporting to be from technical support regarding my computer. Politely, I declined his offer and ended the call. I have a strong suspicion that this might have been a scam, so I urge everyone not to share any personal information about your computer or bank details with strangers over the phone. Stay safe!
