To add to the irritation, a mere quarter of an hour later the number 0049-343-622-237 called my phone. I opted not to respond, suspecting it was yet another scam - and surprise, surprise, that number isn’t even listed anywhere! This kind of rubbish really ought to be a thing of the past!

Some bloke called Kevin rang me claiming he was from Microsoft. He kept telling me to switch on my computer which I ignored. He wouldn’t shut up and kept going on and on. I hung up but he rang straight back again. Then he started saying our computer was about to get locked and asked if we were helping hackers or something. I looked up the number and now I’m here writing this.

Received a call from this number earlier. As soon as I picked up, the call just dropped straight away. I reckon it’s one of those call centre systems that auto-dials and only puts you through if an agent’s free - otherwise they just cut the line. That’s probably what went down here. I don’t have Sky and Virgin Media usually call from UK numbers, so no idea why this one’s German. From reading other comments, seems like there’s been a recent data breach since loads of folks started getting these calls a few days ago. Best to just block the number.
