I receive calls from these people on a daily basis, sometimes even from a different phone number, 0019916. They try to trick me by pretending to be knowledgeable and if I play along, they connect me to someone they claim is an expert, making their story sound more believable. I often ask them for specific information and have them read out messages to see if they truly know what they're talking about. It's concerning that they seem to have access to personal details such as my first name, last name, and address. They mention a CLSID code: 888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062, which may resemble a MAC address. The first six digits suggest that it could be associated with Dell, the vendor responsible for the ethernet card in my computer. I found this interesting thread on the Microsoft forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-security/i-received-a-call-from-someone-claiming-to-be/f446dc12-541a-4dc9-8324-eebf251c4c4f.

Every day, we receive a minimum of two phone calls from individuals with Indian accents claiming that we are encountering issues with Microsoft, a software we do not even use.

This is absolutely dreadful! I have been receiving calls from the same number a total of four times today and I have successfully blocked them each time using either my answer machine or manually. I haven't actually spoken to them at all.
Here are the times at which they called: the first call was approximately 15 minutes before the second one, which happened at 11:50. Then there was another call at 13:13, followed by the fourth one around 14:30, if I remember correctly.

It is a phone number that connects through Denmark using an IP telephone. The caller has access to the addresses of the people they call. It's important to note that being listed in a public phone book does not justify sharing personal information. In any conversation with them, avoid using the word "yes".

I also received a call from the same number. The caller was quite persistent and seemed to have knowledge of your address. His intention was to convince you to open your computer and log in, claiming to offer assistance in resolving any issues on your device. However, it is vital that you do not answer the call or stay engaged for long. It is best to hang up immediately.

We currently reside in France, and unfortunately, we have been experiencing persistent phone calls. It seems that regardless of how we respond, whether we rudely dismiss them or engage in conversation, it does not make a difference: the calls persistently come through almost every day - occasionally even twice or thrice. There are rare occasions when we can enjoy a week without any calls, raising our hopes, only to be disappointed as they inevitably resume. This has been going on for over a year.
As of now, we strictly communicate with them in French, which often leads to them abruptly ending the call. However, we are aware that this tactic is only temporary as they will undoubtedly return.

Over the past few days, we have received calls from a certain number on our home telephone. Today, we received another call. The caller spoke in English but had an Indian accent. The background noise suggested that they were calling from a busy office environment. They claimed to be an employee of Windows and insisted that there were serious issues with my computer. Since I had a similar experience last year, where individuals claiming to be from Windows tried to hack into my system by installing malicious software, I became suspicious. It resulted in me having to clean my entire computer and block my bank account. Therefore, please be cautious! This time, I informed the person that I would contact the police and ended the call. Upon doing some research, I discovered that the number is from Denmark.

December 8, 2014 @ 09:47 AM CET Today, like any other day, I received a call from those persistent individuals. It all started about a year ago, when I picked up and was greeted by the familiar Indian voice claiming to be from Windows, stating that my computer was infected with a virus. Obviously, I didn't believe a word he said, but I thought it would be entertaining to pretend to be clueless and keep him occupied. Surprisingly, I managed to string him along for a good 15 minutes before he grew impatient and abruptly ended the call. It's quite strange how they are aware that I won't fall for their tricks, yet they continue to call me relentlessly. I'm considering answering their call once more and recording the conversation. Originally, I planned to post it on YouTube, but there are already numerous videos exposing these scammers. It's quite fascinating to see how others have turned the tables on them and given them a taste of their own medicine.

I have been receiving multiple calls from this number, claiming to be from Microsoft. They even threatened to blacklist my computer because I have encountered a problem while using Norton on all my devices. The voice on the phone sounded like an Indian male. This happens every time they call.

I constantly receive calls from these individuals. It's incredibly frustrating. They claim to have knowledge of my identity and whereabouts. Unfortunately, my service provider's only option is to block private numbers, which proves ineffective as they continue to call. My patience with this situation is running out.

Greetings! I have been receiving daily calls from a group of individuals who speak with accents that resemble either Chinese or Indian. These calls are highly suspicious as they claim to be representatives from Microsoft, but I believe it to be a complete scam. In fact, I receive these calls multiple times throughout the day. Although the operators seem aware of the nature of the issue and use virtual numbers, it is still illegal and gives the impression that they are part of a criminal organization. If you wish to put an end to these calls, I recommend contacting your service provider as well as Microsoft. It might also be worth reporting the matter to the police. Best regards.

The gentleman with an Indian accent was speaking. I patiently allowed him to finish speaking, before informing him that I use Linux on my computer and I am aware that his call is a scam. He then asked if he had dialed the correct number for my company before abruptly ending the call.

I recently had a phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, claiming that I have computer issues. Can you believe it? It's yet another scam call! It's frustrating to think that there's nothing we can do to stop these fraudulent activities. My heart goes out to all the people who fall for the tricks of these scammers.
