I received a rather peculiar call from a woman with a Chinese accent urging me to power up my laptop, claiming that it was infected with a virus. I promptly decided to end the conversation.

I had a rather unpleasant experience with a bloke who rang me from the number listed above. He claimed to be part of BT's tech support and wanted to fiddle with my computer. When I enquired about how I could verify the authenticity of his call, he offered to provide me with a number to call back, but I wasn't having any of it. I promptly ended the conversation and contacted BT directly. They assured me that it was a complete scam and that they hadn’t initiated any calls to me. Just a heads up to everyone - stay vigilant!

Claimed to be from BT, chatting about some supposed viruses on my computer. Then they inquired whether I was into internet banking. I put a stop to the conversation right there. They didn’t bother saying goodbye and just hung up on me!

Got a call from an Indian chap wanting me to switch on my computer and describe what was on the screen. I flipped it back on him, saying "Why dont you start by telling me what you see?" He chuckled and said something like "Weve got a sassy one here." I told him that if there was an internet issue, Id jot down his details and have my provider ring him up. That shut him up and he ended the call. Nowadays, the only annoying calls trickling in are from overseas numbers!
