Steer clear of this number! It's a dodgy scam call masquerading as BT Openreach. They'll attempt to coax you into downloading something onto your computer. I've noticed they often have Indian accents and can be rather impolite and pushy. If you challenge them to confirm your identity, be aware that they will likely only know your last name. Best to keep your wits about you!

I just had that call too! It baffles me that nobody seems to be stopping these scams. While a lot of us can spot what's going on, I bet there are still people who fall for it. Does anyone have any idea who handles complaints about this stuff so we can finally get it stopped?

Received a call from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach, stating that my internet was at risk due to a security issue. Oddly enough, they mispronounced my name and insisted I hop on my computer to access Safari. When I pushed back on their claims, he abruptly ended the call. Has anyone else encountered something similar?

I received a call from this number as well. When they reached out, I mentioned that my sibling is part of the broadband support crew, and that I’d run it past him. Can you believe it? They hung up right away!

This number keeps ringing me non-stop, like every half an hour. I've tried blocking it on my siemens gigaset but no luck. Really wanna find out which company’s behind these calls.

Just got a call late at night saying our internet was hacked between 2am and 4am. The bloke kept telling us to bring our laptop so he could sort it out. But once my husband said he worked at BT, the guy just hung up.

Some bloke with an Indian accent called me, said my internet was hacked and wanted me to install some software on my PC. They claimed they were from BT Openreach, but I wasn’t buying it. I just played along for a while, kept chatting until I got bored, then told them to have a nice day and hung up. Seriously, don’t do what they say or download anything - these types are total scams and could be a real risk. Don’t get caught out by their nonsense!

Got a call from this number earlier, said they were from BT but turned out to be scammers. Definitely don’t trust them, they’re dodgy.

Called me twice this morning, but didn't bother to leave a message. Quite peculiar, really.

Got a call claiming to be from BT Openreach about a problem with my internet line. When I asked him about the big news story from Manchester, he didn’t have a clue. Kept him talking for about 10 mins, then told him that his number was actually Austrian (probably spoofed) and the number he was ringing had never been connected to the internet. They were proper confused on the other end before I just ended the call.

Rang me two times today and it's really getting bothersome.

At first, he said his name was Harry, but then when he figured I couldn’t hear or was a bit daft, he switched to calling hisself Jack, speaking really slowly and loud so I could catch what he was saying. When I asked why the sudden name swap, there was this awkward pause like he’d just realised he’d messed up, and then he just abruptly ended the call. Well, at least he didn’t resort to swearing. Though, I reckon Openreach’s hiring these days is pretty terrible. Funny thing is, I swear he was working for TalkTalk when he rang me last week…
