These nonstop calls are seriously getting on my nerves!

Received a couple of calls from this number today (1st July 2016). The first attempt didn't go through properly. On the second call, there was an Indian woman on the line, but before I could express my irritation, she hung up.

Called by 004258967, they said they were from pc experts or sommat. The woman on the line had an awful thick accent, made it really difficult to catch what she was on about. Background was hectic, loads of noise which didn’t make things easier. She asked if I owned a computer or a laptop, I told her no and was about to end the call. Looked it up here straight away and now bracing myself for the flood of more calls like others mentioned. Has anyone actually managed to block them successfully?

They keep phoning me like 4 or 5 times daily, it's so annoying. Seriously, it's such a hassle. Does anyone know a way to put an end to this?

This number has been giving me serious chills! It’s unmistakably a scammer trying to pull a fast one. I had a chap with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft, warning me about some nonexistent virus haunting my computer. He urged me to fire up my device and open a certain document that, conveniently, had just shown up. Can you imagine? That would’ve opened the floodgates to all my personal info! My strong recommendation? Let loose with some very colourful language and hang up pronto!

They keep ringing me like a dozen times every day. I just let it go to voicemail but seriously, I wish it would just quit. I can’t block the number cos it’s not a proper number or something. How does that even make sense? Is there any way to make them stop?

If you’ve got a bit of time, try stringing them along. When they asked what was on my computer screen, I rambled on about my screensaver for ages - where I took the photo and all that. Also, ask them loads about the weather or what the view outside your window’s like. It really annoys them! Honestly, it was kinda amusing. But if you’re not in the mood, just pretend you’re about to turn your PC on and put the phone down. Easy!

Over the past couple of days, my phone has rung about 14 times.

On Sunday morning, I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from my internet provider about a problem. I told him straight up he was a con and ended the call. He rang again, so I let him talk for a bit, then hung up once more. Later, I ignored another call that came from an unknown international number, nothing showing on my screen. On Monday morning, I missed a call but called back and saw it was from 004258967. I looked this number up and found out it’s definitely a scam. Next time they call, I’m gonna shout down the phone, hopefully to hurt his ears a bit!

They call me like 4 or 5 times a day, ive had them blocked for about 5 days now, but I’m curious how long they’ll keep going before they finally stop.

I’m thinking it might be linked to the forced Windows 10 update since that’s the only change on my PC. TPS and TPS don’t seem to do anything. Trading Standards can’t assist because it’s not a UK business. I tried answering and pretending to be the police, which worked... but only for a few days.

I called BT not long ago to sort out an issue with my internet, and now I’m getting swamped with calls from this number. Makes me wonder if someone at BT in India might be sharing our info with others? BT really ought to look into this.

Got a call on the 22nd of June, 2016. Once I twigged it was one of those scammers, I figured I might as well humour them a little while - after all, the call was on their dime. They claimed my computer was sending off some dodgy messages and offered to sort it out for me. Wish I'd had a proper script ready beforehand! 004258967 rang me yesterday and I told ’em it was a scam and to leave me alone. Then today they’ve called four bloody times!! Is there any way to stop this? I’ve even contacted BT about the calls.

For the past few days, I've been getting loads of calls daily from this number. When I picked up once, they claimed my computer had an issue. Since then, I just don't bother answering, but it's really frustrating. Is there any way to block these firms for good?

Someone kept callin but didn’t say a word, so I just hung up thinking it was a prank. Thanks to this site I found out they do that to pretend there’s a bad connection and it’s actually a scam.

I keep gettin calls from India about fixing my computer, like 5 or 6 times every single day! I told them to quit hassling me but they just don’t listen and keep on ringing. Proper annoying!

Some bloke has been ringing me for nearly a week now, like 2 or 3 times every day. I told him to piss off and that he’s gotta stop calling this number, and he just said “it’s outta my control.” What else can I do if he keeps ringing?

It’s hilarious how these tech fraudsters are still plying their trade from India at this point in time! Honestly, can anyone be that naively gullible to take the bait?

I usually drag the call out for ages, my longest was about 30 minutes. I just ramble on and on, it’s hilarious how annoyed they get after a while.

I got a call from an Indian guy and girl claiming to be from some PC repair firm, insisting there was an issue with my computer. I decided to humour them and see where this was going! They asked to connect remotely to my computer, and that’s when I just hung up.

So yesterday at about 5pm (15th June), I got a call from this number. A man with an Indian accent claimed to be calling from some Computer Maintenance Company. I just told him it was the wrong number and ended the call. My Panasonic phone lets me program numbers, so I’ve set this one to “silent block” with just a busy tone, so I don’t even know when they ring unless I look at the call list. They’ve already tried three times today (16th June around 12:38pm), but my phone instantly cuts them off every time. Apparently, the phone recognises it’s an international call, which is handy. Hopefully, they’ll give up soon. I’m pretty sure this is some scam where they want to trick me into installing malware so they can hack my bank stuff. Unless they use a new number, they’ll never get through. If they do, I’ll just add the new number and block it too. Seems like these people have nothing better to do but waste their time calling me!

Over the past four days, I've gotten more than 20 calls from someone who sounds Indian. They keep telling me there's an issue with my computer that I need to fix.

This number keeps ringing me and I just ignore it because it’s really annoying. I do shift work so it’s tough to deal with. I’m on the ex-directory list and have also registered with the telephone preference service, but it hasn’t stopped yet. What can I do to put an end to this?

I hung up straightaway. Then they rang back an hour or two later, so I told them where to go. Later that day, I signed up with TPS. Today, two calls came through from 004258967. Just ignored them both. I’m now ignoring all calls on my landline but it’s still a right pain. Does anyone know an address for these scammers in London? I’m tempted to send someone round!

I'm getting rings from this number every couple of hours, yet nobody seems to utter a word when I answer. It's becoming quite tiresome, to be honest.

Got 8 calls from this number last week at all hours! Then they rang again this morning. One of them even called me a liar when I said I use a Mac. Ridiculous!

This number kept calling us 21 times during the weekend, sometimes just minutes apart. We got a BT phone with a call blocking feature for these sorts of calls and now it doesn’t even ring, which is brilliant.

I just noticed this number rang me loads of times while I was away on holiday and I couldn’t answer. Just checked when I got back and saw it tried around 10 times! After seeing what other people said about it, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.

Lately, I keep getting calls from some call centre in India. Just got a ring from them again. Last time they called, my antivirus flagged someone trying to sneak into my PC right as they were on the line. I keep telling them I’m not interested but they keep on ringing. Been happening ever since I spoke to BT’s call centre in India - the woman I dealt with was quite rude too. Proper fed up with all this now!

Got a call from a woman with an asian accent who said she was from a company called PC Experts. She told me my computer was infected with malware and needed urgent fixing, which was why she was contacting me. When I asked for my name, she said all she had was my driving licence number and my phone number. Then when i asked her to tell me the licence number, she just ended the call.

This number keeps ringing me non-stop, starting first thing at about 8 in the morning and then every 10 to 15 minutes after that. Luckily, I have caller ID so I just don’t answer now. If I was working shifts, I’d be proper stressed. Does anyone know how to make these calls stop?

Funny, I see I’m not the only one who got calls after ringing BT about a tech issue. I got loads of calls from this number too, mostly they just dropped when I picked up. Then once, a lady answered, sounded like she might be Indian, asking about the computers I have and if anything was wrong. I tried explaining I had an issue with my Windows, hoping for some help, and she just ended the call on me.

These fools from India and the UK keep ringing, saying they're from the computer dept. Got called like 12 times in one day. Totally a scam unless you’re really clueless or don’t know anything about computers. Windows or Microsoft would never bother you like that.

Beware of this con artist trying to fool you into granting them access to your computer under the false pretence that you have an issue. Don't hesitate to put down the phone right away; they haven’t a clue about the state of your machine. Their sole aim is to manipulate you into giving them entry into your system.

I’ve been getting calls from this number nonstop - must be around 46 times in just a couple of days. Honestly, feels like they’re harassing me.

This number has called me like 7 times in under a day. Luckily, i was able to block it.

i've had like 20 calls from 02987775555 before, which was defo an indian scam. now theyre coming through from 004258967 instead. so annoying!
