Phone number ☎️ 004258967 👆 is reported as a persistent and aggressive scam operation impersonating Microsoft or PC experts to deceive individuals into granting remote access or sharing licence details, often accompanied by threats and foul language if refused. Callers, frequently using Indian accents, make multiple daily calls - sometimes dozens - to both computer owners and those without PCs, aiming to exploit the vulnerable. The numbers often appear international and are difficult to block, with many victims noting ineffectiveness of Telekom preference services or phone blockers. Interaction may lead to attempts to install malware or gain sensitive information. Authorities such as Action Fraud warn against cooperation; best practice is to ignore, hang up immediately, report the calls, and never grant access or follow unsolicited instructions.

10 yearsI’m absolutely losing my mind with all these incessant calls!10 yearsReceived a couple of calls from this number today (1st July 2016). The first attempt didn't go through properly. On the second call, there was an Indian woman on the line, but before I could express my irritation, she hung up.10 yearsCalled by 004258967, they said they were from pc experts or sommat. The woman on the line had an awful thick accent, made it really difficult to catch what she was on about. Background was hectic, loads of noise which didn’t make things easier. She asked if I owned a computer or a laptop, I told her no and was about to end the call. Looked it up here straight away and now bracing myself for the flood of more calls like others mentioned. Has anyone actually managed to block them successfully?10 yearsthey rang me today. I pretended for a bit cos I knew it was dodgy. He asked me what the 3rd line at the bottom was when you run assoc in cmd (which I never did). I just read out loud, "do you really think I’m daft?" and he just hung up! daveDave10 yearsI've been bombarded with calls from these numbers lately, all showing up as 'International' on my phone. We’ve decided not to pick up, but it’s becoming quite the nuisance. Does anyone know if BT allows you to block certain numbers?InternationalBT10 yearsI've been bombarded by these individuals, reaching out to me at least four or five times daily. It's becoming quite a nuisance, to say the least! Does anyone have any tips on how I can put an end to this relentless barrage?10 yearsThis is a dodgy number, so get a phone that shows caller ID and don’t answer if you see this one pop up. If you pick up, it tells them someone’s there and you’ll probably get more calls tryna con you. Best just leave it, don’t answer, and don’t argue or shout. Let it ring out and they’ll eventually stop bothering you and take you off their list of easy marks.10 yearsI've been bombarded with calls lately-seven of them in just the past day! Quite the nuisance, to say the least.10 yearsThis number keeps ringing me, yet every time I pick up, there's nothing but silence on the other end. It's incredibly frustrating!10 yearsThis number has been giving me serious chills! It’s unmistakably a scammer trying to pull a fast one. I had a chap with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft, warning me about some nonexistent virus haunting my computer. He urged me to fire up my device and open a certain document that, conveniently, had just shown up. Can you imagine? That would’ve opened the floodgates to all my personal info! My strong recommendation? Let loose with some very colourful language and hang up pronto!Microsoft10 years004258967 has been ringing me nonstop, like 30 times just this past week. I dont even own a PC, just a Samsung tablet. Anyone know how I can block this number?Samsung10 yearsHad a call from someone saying they were a "Microsoft Windows" specialist earlier today, saying my PC was full of viruses. Told him off quite rudely and ended the call straight away.10 yearsThey keep ringing me like a dozen times every day. I just let it go to voicemail but seriously, I wish it would just quit. I can’t block the number cos it’s not a proper number or something. How does that even make sense? Is there any way to make them stop?10 years004258967 Just got a call about 10 minutes ago, on 29.6.16 at 11.30am. Nearly fell for it when she rang and suddenly my PC showed an error message. They said they were PC experts from 146 Banbury Road, Oxford. I said “Oh, that’s nice! Whereabouts in Oxford do you live?” but she only knew that address and claimed she lived at the office. I figured straight away it was a scam. Was on a break for about 20 mins so decided to play along, pretending I was running some program in CMD prompt. Honestly, really annoying - they sounded quite convincing and could easily fool my parents!Banbury RoadOxfordASSOC10 yearsIf you've got a moment to spare, string them along a bit. When they inquired about what was displayed on my screen, I went on for ages discussing my screensaver image-where I snapped it, all that sort of thing. ALSO, don't hesitate to bombard them with questions about the view out of your window and the weather-trust me, it really gets under their skin! Honestly, it turned out to be quite entertaining. But if you really can't be bothered, just set the phone down and pretend you're about to fire up your computer.ALSO10 years004258967 Had pretty much the same thing as loads of others here. They’re calling themselves PC Expert and keep telling me there’s some kind of error code on my computer. They won’t stop ringing me either.10 yearsIn just a span of two days, my phone has received a staggering 14 calls.10 yearsI've received three calls in just two days. I decided to engage with them today. They claimed that my computer was riddled with issues and could 'verify' their legitimacy by requesting my Microsoft licence number. I halted the conversation when they asked me to input a URL. When I requested their contact number, they provided a UK freephone number; however, upon calling 1471, I was surprised to find a 0042 number instead. I've reached out to the Action Fraud helpline to report this and strongly encourage others to do the same. Also, despite being ex-directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service, these pesky calls still keep coming.MicrosoftUKAction FraudTelephone Preference Service10 yearsOn Sunday morning, I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from my internet provider about a problem. I told him straight up he was a con and ended the call. He rang again, so I let him talk for a bit, then hung up once more. Later, I ignored another call that came from an unknown international number, nothing showing on my screen. On Monday morning, I missed a call but called back and saw it was from 004258967. I looked this number up and found out it’s definitely a scam. Next time they call, I’m gonna shout down the phone, hopefully to hurt his ears a bit!10 yearsSo frustrating when folks pretend to be from Microsoft and tell me there's something wrong with my computer.Microsoft10 yearsThey call me like 4 or 5 times a day, ive had them blocked for about 5 days now, but I’m curious how long they’ll keep going before they finally stop.10 yearsI’m curious, if I were to activate a personal safety alarm during one of these bothersome calls and it ended up affecting the caller's hearing, would that be against the law? I seem to be bombarded by these calls every afternoon. They’ve rang me once by mistake and, when I clarified that I wasn't interested in any computer assistance, they just keep calling back. It’s really quite frustrating!10 yearsI’m thinking it might be linked to the forced Windows 10 update since that’s the only change on my PC. TPS and TPS don’t seem to do anything. Trading Standards can’t assist because it’s not a UK business. I tried answering and pretending to be the police, which worked... but only for a few days.Trading Standards10 yearsI called BT not long ago to sort out an issue with my internet, and now I’m getting swamped with calls from this number. Makes me wonder if someone at BT in India might be sharing our info with others? BT really ought to look into this.BTIndia10 yearsGot calls from this number like 5 times today between 9 in the morning and nearly 6 in the evening. It’s some scam about your computer or summat. They sound like they’re speaking Chinese or Japanese. When you pick up, half the time there’s just silence. Honestly, it might be better to just tell them where to shove it instead of falling for their scam. They carry on ringing even after you tell them to buzz off!10 yearsI received a call on 22nd June 2016. Once I figured out it was one of those scam companies, I thought I’d have a bit of fun with them since they were footing the bill for the call. They claimed my computer was sending out all sorts of messages it ought not to be, and that they were there to assist in rectifying the issue. If I had been more prepared, I would have penned a little script beforehand. I was quite astonished when I managed to retrieve their number through 1471. Cheers, Bernadette.CheersBernadette10 yearsSuch a nuisance, fingers crossed they don’t trick anyone who’s just trying to be trustworthy.10 yearsThis caller has been ringing my elderly mum nonstop for weeks, sometimes as many as 7 times daily. She’s 86 and doesn’t even have a computer. She’s told them this straight away and hangs up immediately but the calls just keep coming. Thankfully, she’s pretty sharp and knows a scam when she hears it, but honestly, the constant ringing is beyond annoying now. Does anyone know how to make it stop? BT aren’t much use - they want £69 but can’t promise how quickly they’ll sort it. Very frustrating!BT10 years004258967 rang me yesterday and I told ’em it was a scam and to leave me alone. Then today they’ve called four bloody times!! Is there any way to stop this? I’ve even contacted BT about the calls.BT10 yearsIt all kicked off four days back when I began receiving calls, often multiple times a day. I picked up the phone the first time, and they claimed there was an issue with my computer. Since then, I’ve just ignored their calls, but it’s becoming rather bothersome. I’m at a loss as to how to put an end to these persistent companies. What’s the best way to deal with them?10 yearsSomeone kept callin but didn’t say a word, so I just hung up thinking it was a prank. Thanks to this site I found out they do that to pretend there’s a bad connection and it’s actually a scam.10 yearsI keep receiving calls from an Indian number regarding computer upkeep! It's incessant, with 5 or 6 calls daily without fail! I've requested them to cease the calls, but they just don’t get the hint! Such a nuisance!10 yearsSome bloke has been ringing me for nearly a week now, like 2 or 3 times every day. I told him to piss off and that he’s gotta stop calling this number, and he just said “it’s outta my control.” What else can I do if he keeps ringing?10 yearsCalled him a right dodgy git, reckon that threw him off, total muppet.10 yearsSo far I’ve had 826 calls from this number over the past 17 days, both day and night. Honestly, I’m really starting to lose my patience with these idiots.10 yearsBeen getting calls like 10 times over the past couple days :-(10 yearsIt’s hilarious how these tech fraudsters are still plying their trade from India at this point in time! Honestly, can anyone be that naively gullible to take the bait?India10 yearsI usually drag the call out for ages, my longest was about 30 minutes. I just ramble on and on, it’s hilarious how annoyed they get after a while.10 yearsI received a call from a pair of individuals, both Indian, claiming to represent a computer upkeep firm. They were insisting that there was an issue with my computer(s). I decided to humour them for a bit; they even requested remote access to my device. That’s when I decided to terminate the conversation.10 yearsSick of getting calls from this number, they just hang up as soon as I pick up. I’m thinking of contacting the local non emergency police to get them to put a stop to it.10 yearsGot called twice from 004258967, first time some bloke with an indian-ish accent was on the phone to my missus, trying to say there was something wrong with our PC, told him we dont even own one. Second time I picked up, and the coward just hung up on me! Proper shame, I had a whole load of abuse ready for that blaggr!10 yearsThis number called me three times today. The first couple of calls were from a woman with such a thick accent I couldn’t make out what she was saying. The third call was from a polite sounding man with an Asian accent. He claimed my computer was messing with the internet and said if I didn’t let him get in right away, he’d block my PC and report me to the Telecoms Ombudsman for legal action. When I told him to leave me alone, he got rude and then just hung up.Telecoms10 yearsThis number just went straight to our voicemail and they ended the call. These fake callers are a real nuisance and ought to be blocked, it's clearly a scam.10 yearsI’ve just started getting calls from this number over the last couple of days. Initially, I had an Asian gentleman on the line claiming there was an issue with my computer, which was clearly a load of rubbish. When I probed him about his company, he promptly hung up. They tried again today, twice. The first call was from an Asian lady who also cut the connection when I inquired about their identity and the firm they represented. On the second occasion, I opted for silence, and after a bit of awkwardness, they hung up as well. It’s quite evident they aren’t very skilled at scamming over the phone, especially since they sometimes neglect to hide their number-something most scammers manage to do quite well. In comparison to previous scam attempts I've faced, they're remarkably inept. I would recommend to anyone receiving such calls to simply remain quiet and let them chatter away until they decide to hang up themselves.10 yearsThis number has been ringing me a lot lately. Sometimes it’s a guy with an Asian accent, other times a woman. They stay quiet till you start talking, then they go on about some issue with your computer. Total rubbish, obviously.10 yearsLoads of calls from 004258967, some bloke from India looking to chat about my computer. I just ended the call and blocked the number, but they keep on ringing me still.10 yearsI’m so sick of this number keep calling me! What was the point of getting it then?10 yearsThis number's been blowing me up like 13 times over the last few days. Picked up today and the bloke said I’d called him asking for help with my PC. Told him to quit ringing me but I doubt they’ll listen.10 yearsI've had over 20 phone calls in just four days. The caller, who has an Indian accent, claims they need to inform me about an issue with my computer.10 yearsGot a few calls from this number lately. Seems like they’re running the same trick, trying to get into my computer :-(10 yearsThis number keeps ringing me, and it's absolutely infuriating! Given that I work variable hours, I can't just answer any old call. I've gone to the lengths of being ex-directory, plus I’ve registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but nothing seems to work. What on earth can I do to put an end to this nuisance?Telephone Preference Service10 yearsFor the past few days, I’ve been getting calls from 0208777 5555. I picked up once and some bloke with an Indian accent started banging on about problems with my computer, total rubbish. I hung up straightaway. Then they rang back an hour or two later, so I told them where to go. Later that day, I signed up with TPS. Today, two calls came through from 004258967. Just ignored them both. I’m now ignoring all calls on my landline but it’s still a right pain. Does anyone know an address for these scammers in London? I’m tempted to send someone round!IndiaTPSLondon10 yearsI've had 3 calls from them already today. Every time I hang up, they ring right back, acting all pushy and saying they're just trying to sort out my Windows PC. They're seriously annoying and quite rude. About half an hour later, a man called. I told him to stop ringing me or I’d report them, then I hung up. He called right back, I didn’t pick up. Ridiculous!10 yearsThis number kept calling us 21 times during the weekend, sometimes just minutes apart. We got a BT phone with a call blocking feature for these sorts of calls and now it doesn’t even ring, which is brilliant.10 yearsThe STD code is actually Czech. I kept grilling the caller about his business and kept saying I didn’t have a computer, hoping he'd quit. They’ve called us two or three times in the past few days. Funny enough, we’ve been on the phone loads with BT tech support recently because we’ve been without fibre broadband for two months. It’s a long story for another time, but honestly, BT has got to be one of the worst utility companies I’ve ever had to deal with. So it wouldn’t surprise me if their system is somehow leaking phone numbers to dodgy scammers like these.Czech RepublicBT10 yearsI've received multiple calls from this number, but sadly, I wasn't quick enough to answer. They insisted that my computer was sending out error alerts. Then the chap on the line asked for my address - 146 Banbury Road, Oxford.
