Got a missed call on my mobile from +4174545606 around 6:58 this evening. Since the number looked Swiss, I did a quick search online. Turns out it might actually be a US mobile number? Either way, i aint ringin back.

Honestly, I wouldn’t answer if you haven’t got any connections in Switzerland. I saw the call at 6:14pm (London time) and, caught up with work, I just answered out of curiosity. The moment I did, the call dropped just after a tenth of a second. It felt really odd and kind of creepy. To me, this seems like some kind of harassment and might even pose some risk. Would stay clear of it.

They call and as soon as you pick up they just drop the call. Definitely a scam to make you ring them back. Just don’t bother calling back!

Got a call from this number earlier. It wasn’t one of those wangiri scams though, as some bloke was babbling nonsense and I couldn’t make sense of what he was saying. I ended up reporting it to Action Fraud using the link mentioned above. You can report any scam using that same link.

In just over three hours, I got a bunch of calls from numbers like +4174545606, +4174540575, +4174545609 and +4174545604 10. Fell for it once and called back, thought it was a UK number starting with +44, but it was just some automated message with music and a woman’s voice saying they’d been trying to reach me. I’ve told the police about it and found out plenty have had the same. Honestly, I’m a bit nervous to ring my phone company to see how much that callback might’ve cost me!
