I picked up the phone and heard a lady chatting in some foreign language, then she just suddenly ended the call.

I called a number I had listed as my ex's old landline, but when it went straight to voicemail, I just hung up. Since I only share my landline with close family and a few mates, I decided to check who actually owns the number now. For reference, I'm based in Milton Keynes.

Since the 6th of July, I’ve been getting a bunch of calls from similar numbers - quite a few from Zurich, one from Baden - and I’ve just reported all of them to the ICO. It kicked off with a UK mobile, then switched to a London landline, and now even some international ones. This morning I finally picked up and the bloke on the phone was downright rude and hostile. When I told him to take me off their list, he just laughed and said, “Are you daft or what? You’ve got an account with us.” I definitely haven’t. What a nightmare.

I didn’t pick up, but after seeing what people wrote here, really glad I left it. Then the very next day, got a call from nearly the exact same number, just one number off - totally someone unfamiliar to me!

Ever since the 4th of June, these folks have been blowing up my phone nonstop about some online trading scheme. Honestly, do yourself a favour and don’t pick up the call!
