steer clear of any calls linked to this firm. spdr isn’t actually the company’s name, its actually a financial term: a spider (spdr) means an exchange-traded fund (etf) that follows the s&p 500 index. spdr stands for s&p depository receipts. the person ringing you is said to be located in zurich, but honestly, it’s probably a scam setup just to take your cash.

I got a call from a company saying their name was spdr, claiming they were some financial firm. They asked to talk to my hubby about an investment and wanted to confirm his info. I said no thanks. Sounds like it might be dodgy.
