Got a call from someone saying there was a problem with my internet, but I reckon it was just a scam.

I've dealt with this issue several times myself. I think I read somewhere that there's a new law now against these sorts of scams. Does anyone know if that's true, and if yes, who should we report these dodgy calls to? It's the same number bothering loads of us, apparently t??29727 or something like that.

this lady, she sounded asian and claimed she was from bt tech support, saying my internet had issues and someone was using it without permission. when i told her i thought she was scamming me, she asked how i knew that. i just replied “because you’ve done it before,” then she ended the call.

this woman with an asian accent rang me claiming she was from the bt technical support team, saying my internet had issues and someone was using it illegally. when i told her i thought it was a scam, she asked me how i knew that, and i replied that she had attempted it before. she then just ended the call.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming there was an issue with my internet. I immediately knew it was dodgy so I called them out on it. The woman on the line sounded like she wasn’t from around here and just hung up when I said it was a scam. Total rip-off!

I'm from Ireland and got a call from this number as well. When I picked up, there was complete silence. Also, isn't it strange how short this number is? 003939187 or something like that?

Got a call from someone claiming there's a major problem they need to fix. When I questioned them, they just ended the call straight away. Definitely feels like a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT about my internet being slow. They said someone was stealing my bandwidth or something. I didn’t bite and asked for a reference number so i could ring BT myself. The bloke said his name was Peter Brook but had an obvious foreign accent. He threatened to cut off my services if i didn’t play ball. I said fine and then hung up. Later, I dialled 1471 and the number showed up looking suspiciously short. Definitely sounded dodgy to me.
