I received a proposition regarding a refund for a Bitcoin investment, which I promptly dismissed, as I’ve never engaged with Bitcoin nor had any interest in such matters. It seemed to me he was attempting some sort of scam, possibly trying to pull a fast one on me.

Got a call from someone named Petri Hooli, sounded like a dodgy scammer to me. Might be linked to one of those assisted living places or rehabs they run.

This call was nonsense from the start. They pretended to have helped me get refunded on some Bitcoin thing years ago, which I never even got involved with. It had scam written all over it. Strangely enough, the number was Finnish, but their accent was nowhere near Scandinavian - very dodgy if you ask me.

Last week got a call from a number in Finland, +358 9 42721044, which turned out to be a scam. Just now, another one popped up, +358 9 42724027, also from Finland and I’m guessing same trick. So yeah, if any Finnish number shows on my screen, I just don’t pick up. Both of those numbers are blocked on my phone now.

They called and asked for me by name. I immediately asked why they were ringing, cos I guessed straight away it was a sales call. The guy on the line spoke really good English, but had an accent that wasn’t British. He said it was about some investment chance or something. I told him I’m on the TPS list, then just ended the call. Pretty obvious they were just trying to pitch something to make money.

Today, in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, I got a ring from this number. A bloke with a foreign accent asked if he was speaking to me, using my name. When I asked him who he was, he just ended the call straight away.

I got a call from a woman who kept going on about my day and what I was up to later, but never really told me why she was calling, even though I asked right at the start. She said she was calling from Zurich, Switzerland, but my phone showed the number was from Helsinki, Finland. It felt quite suspicious, so I ended up hanging up pretty quickly.

Got a call and the person wanted to have a friendly natter about the weather and how my day's been, but i told them i’m busy working and asked what it was about. Then they passed me onto someone else who said something like “we’re human, we need to have a chat first.” It felt like they were just stalling the call, so i just hung up after about 2 minutes. No clue what the actual reason for the call was and fingers crossed it’s not one of those dodgy ones where you get charged for picking up.

Watch out, these lot try to trick you into giving your personal and payment info. They claim you can earn loads of cash and say they’re ringing from Switzerland, yet the number actually comes from Ireland. Don’t fall for it, these people aren’t to be trusted!
