This number has been ringing me almost every morning at ridiculous times lately. I looked it up online and saw some folks saying it was Amazon, but I got in touch with Amazon directly and they told me it wasn’t them at all and advised me to report it to Action Fraud. They’ve called me at like 3:30 AM and 2:30 AM, which is really odd for a UK number, especially one from Ireland. Definitely feels dodgy to me.

This number is actually from Amazon. I had a problem with Amazon Pay and asked for an immediate call back through my Amazon account on their site. This was the number shown, and a really helpful person phoned me back and sorted out my issue.

Got a call from 003538004961081 saying someone bought a pricey phone on Amazon. The woman claimed to be from Microsoft fraud team and asked me to switch on my laptop. I told her to ring me again in an hour. Contacted Amazon and they said it was a scam. They also mentioned that they’d sent an email, really convincing but definitely fake.

Yep, it’s from Amazon. I spoke with them on their webchat, then got a call afterward. I missed the first ring but they emailed me about the problem I’d just talked to them about and rang me again. When I picked up, it was legit.

i got a call saying my amazon prime subscription was about to expire and needed £79.99. they told me to press 1 to speak to a manager, which i did but the connection was awful. so i called amazon myself and they told me straight away it was a scam. later on, i even got an email with my info which just confirmed to me it was definitely a scam or some kind of prank.

Some bloke called me saying my Amazon Prime was about to auto-renew. Problem is, I don’t even have an account with them! I ended the call straight away and told Amazon, who said it’s a total scam. If you get a similar call, just jot down the number, tell Amazon, and hang up. Never press any buttons they ask for.

So it turns out this was Amazon reaching out about my refund. The seller kept refusing to refund me, so I got in touch with Amazon and they were really helpful sorting it out.

I just got a call saying my Amazon account was hacked and that someone placed an order for £330. They told me to press 1 to cancel it and speak with their fraud team. I pressed 1, but then called Amazon customer service myself. They told me it wasn’t them and likely a spam call. After that, I’m seriously thinking of cutting out all my payment info from things that auto-renew like PayPal, Amazon, and any other sites I have my details saved on. Gonna try and stop this happening again.

I didnt answer, but I phoned Amazon about a different issue and after reading these comments, it really could be them. If they call once more, I’ll answer but make sure not to share any personal details unless I’m 100% certain it’s from Amazon. I also got an email related to my question, but it was pretty generic. They asked me to fill out a survey about my original problem - nah, I didn’t bother with that since they weren’t much help anyway.

TOTAL SCAM - Amazon won’t ring you up unless you've set up a callback. When you call their customer support, the very first message tells you to report any calls that claim to be from Amazon.

Asked Amazon to call me and they actually did. The bloke I spoke to was really helpful and fixed my issue straight away. Got a call from Amazon about ages it’s taking to get my stuff (ordered on 2nd August and it’s set to arrive 18th October, can you believe it?). Also chatted about an order from 8th September where I got four things; one’s not in stock and the other three, even though they’re available, won’t show up till late Sept or Oct. The chap helping me had an Indian accent and was quite nice about it.

Got a quick call back from Amazon after asking about an order. Had to listen to quite a bit of hold music before someone came on. The guy who helped me, Bharath, was really good and cleared everything up. Received a couple of emails confirming the actions he took. Bit odd though, the number starts with 00353, which I know is for Ireland. Some previous reviews hint that scammers might be using this number now.

Yup, it’s really Amazon. I got a call from this exact number right after I chose the callback option on their site, since that seemed like the only way to get help. For the one person saying you cant ring back - I reckon that’s just because this number doesn’t take incoming calls. Honestly, if you did try calling back, you might get charged loads cos it sounds like the call’s going offshore somewhere in Asia. Probably not the best idea to call it back!

I got several calls around lunchtime on a Sunday, I think it was 03.03.19, about 5 or 6 times. Most of the time, it was some classical music playing, and quite a few went straight to voicemail. At one point, a bloke with an English accent told me I could block the number by calling back and pressing the pound key! Honestly, who on earth would do that? I just blocked it the usual way - by holding down the number on my phone screen until it shakes and then choosing "Block" from the menu.

The number seems legit, although the person I spoke to sounded a bit uncertain and had to double-check a few things with others. The thick Irish accent made it a bit hard to catch everything, but in the end, my delivery issue was sorted out fine. DEFINITELY REAL.

I answered a call on a colleague's direct number and they asked if they were speaking to "Christie". I replied no and asked who it was, they claimed to be from Amazon. It felt a bit dodgy since the caller didn't seem to realise that ‘Christie’ is a bloke (and I'm a woman) and mentioned they’d just been chatting with him but got cut off. Thing is, the person they wanted isn’t actually in today.
