I couldn’t catch the first few words they said, but then they asked how I was feeling. I gave them a pretty blunt reply without holding back.

I run a business and can’t hide my number, plus blocking it risks missing legitimate calls. Honestly, if I could teleport over there and give those idiots a piece of my mind, I’d be tempted. Their constant harassment feels endless and there’s no way to shut it down. What’s the point of BT or the government if they’re not using technology to put an end to this? Got a call twice today from 0035236882835. A woman with an Asian accent said my internet was going to be cut off for two months because we'd been downloading unprotected stuff. When I asked what internet provider she was talking about, she couldn't say. I rudely told her to leave me alone and warned her I'd ring the police. Honestly, I can see how someone more vulnerable might get really frightened by that. It felt quite intimidating since she kept arguing back.

This is definitely a scam. If your phone lets you block numbers, make sure you use that feature. If it doesn’t, consider getting a call blocking device or phone to keep those annoying calls away. The tricky thing is, they’ve got loads of tricks and different numbers they call you from. But these blockers can at least stop the ones that pop up at the moment. Also, try not to give your landline to shops or places you don’t fully trust, because they often sell your details to these scam callers. Be careful out there, everyone!

I've had calls from this number several mornings, like two or three times. When I picked up today, some bloke with an Indian accent said he was calling from BT computers. I told him quite bluntly to stop calling me and then just hung up.

Pretty sure this was a scam. I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming our BT internet was about to be cut off for two months because apparently, we’d been downloading some sort of viruses and infected files. My son got a call from someone claiming to be from BT. He ended up giving them his email address, thinking it was legit. After chatting for a bit, they asked what bank details were saved on his PC. That’s when he came over to me, and I quickly figured out it was a scam and ended the call.

These lot are just out to rip you off and want your info. Luckily, my new BT phone has this feature where it tells callers “the person you are trying to reach isn’t taking calls”. The true call BT sells is ace, you can block numbers and they won’t bother you again. This'll be the final time I get calls from dodgy people like this. I’ve got my phone all set up and charged, and this number’s going straight on the block list first thing.
