This number rang me up claiming to be from BT tech support and said they wanted to help boost my internet speed. They asked me to switch on my computer so they could walk me through some steps. When I mentioned I'm actually with Sky, the caller immediately said they knew that already. I could smell a scam from a mile off, so I called them out on it. The bloke got a bit rude and quickly ended the call.
