I am currently registered on the TPS, but I suspect these calls are originating from abroad. It's frustrating to receive multiple calls throughout the day, especially when I'm not at home. What's more frustrating is that they never leave a message, indicating that the calls are not important at all!

I just received a call from a chap who claimed to be from the British Government Funding Department. However, when I politely asked for the department's address, he responded by using inappropriate language and insults. Quite charming of him, isn't it? It made me chuckle, to be honest.

Beware of deceitful individuals engaging in fraudulent activities. These scammers exploit and deceive others and may belong to a group commenting by using derogatory terms like "Chinky Chew." Their intention is to perpetrate financial fraud. It is crucial to stay alert and prevent falling victim to such unethical practices.

I keep receiving calls from this number, and once again, today, when I answered, they immediately hung up. How can I block this number from contacting me?

I make a habit of keeping my phone uncharged and occasionally checking for missed calls. It might sound rather odd, but it brings me a sense of peace. Today, I received a call from an unfamiliar number which led me to search for information about it, ultimately leading me to this website.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he was from the UK Government, telling me I’d been chosen out of the blue to get £8,000 tax-free. The guy sounded really polite and believable - Asian guy, spoke quite smoothly. I played along for a bit but then told him he should send me all the details in writing and that I’d get back to him. As you’d expect, he just dropped the line. That was about three weeks back. Funny thing is, the same number rang me again this morning.

I received a phone call from this particular number only a few minutes ago. The lady on the other end inquired, "May I please speak with Mrs. *****?" In response, I politely informed her that my name is not Mrs. *****. However, her reaction was quite abrupt and offensive, as she exclaimed, "Well, who the heck are you then?!" Following her profane outburst, she abruptly terminated the call.

My phone recently received a call from an unknown number. However, upon answering, there was no one on the other end. I believe it may be an automated system that randomly calls numerous numbers, and the first person to answer is connected - hence the silence when I picked up. I want to caution everyone about potential scam calls and advise against sharing any sensitive banking information over the phone.

I received a call this morning informing me that I had won £8000 for being a responsible citizen. This was the third call of its kind in three months, but from different numbers each time. I decided to play along and the caller provided me with a code and a number to call immediately. Fortunately, my phone now has the feature to block unknown numbers, so I blocked the number and also checked the number they wanted me to call, which turned out to be another scam number. I am 74 years old and consider myself lucky to have recognized the signs of a scam, but it is becoming ridiculous. I do my best to warn my friends, but I can't help but feel for those who are deceived. Thank goodness we are able to report these numbers and block them. I only recently learned about blocking from my phone provider, but it has proven to be very helpful.

I got a call telling me I’d been chosen for an £8000 government grant to spend however I liked. It felt fishy when the lady asked if I wanted the cash or if she should send it through Western Union. I told her I wasn’t convinced this was legit and ended the call straight away.

I have received five calls from them so far. Thankfully, I have a phone with the capability to block numbers, so I have already added their number to the block list. Undoubtedly, it's nothing but a scam.

I received a phone call just as mentioned above. The person on the other end said, "Congratulations, your number has been selected at random for you to receive a Government grant of £8000! You won't have to pay any interest on it, and best of all, you don't have to pay it back!" I couldn't help but burst into laughter upon hearing this ridiculous offer. Unfortunately, the caller hung up before I had a chance to inquire about why our financially struggling government was freely giving away taxpayers' money to anyone and everyone.

I picked up but there was dead silence for a moment. Then a woman with a proper British accent just said “good bye” - and hung up straight away. What’s the point of calling if you’re not gonna talk?

I made it a point to call them every day, stressing the fact that since my husband is Greek, I wanted my government funds to contribute towards paying off Greece's debt. Bewildered, he questioned my motives and hung up when I couldn't contain my amusement. These individuals are quite bothersome, unable to construct coherent sentences. I explicitly requested that they refrain from contacting elderly individuals!

Called up by someone claiming to be from Microsoft support about a supposed issue with my PC. They asked if I was at the computer - said no, and they told me to take my time and log on when ready. So I just put the phone down beside me and carried on reading my newspaper. After a few mins I could hear them trying to get my attention, saying stuff like “Ma’am? Hello?” I just ignored it all and kept them dangling on the line for a full seven minutes before they finally gave up and hung up. If they want to waste my time, I’m more than happy to waste theirs!

Beware of an ongoing scam on behalf of the UK government. It is essential that you do not disclose any personal information to these scammers. This is particularly important for pensioners, who are often targeted in these types of fraudulent attempts. Remember, if the government genuinely needs to provide you with financial assistance, they will most likely do so through the sending of an official cheque. In addition, it has come to our attention that the same phone number has been attempting to gather sensitive information from online users as well. Please do not be fooled by their attempts and exercise caution when interacting with such individuals or numbers. Stay vigilant and spread the word among your friends and family to ensure everyone's safety.

Got a call around 8.03 today but it just went to my answerphone without any message. We seem to get a few like this every week from various numbers, often Asian ones, and I reckon they're probably some kind of scam.

I have received three phone calls from this particular number within a span of one week. The individuals on the other end of the line are clearly using fake names and claim to be associated with the "UK Government Grant". Today, when I requested that they cease calling my number, one of them proceeded to say "I love you, I love you" and even blew a kiss through the phone before I swiftly ended the call.

I received a phone call from someone who claimed that the government has given me some money. However, when I asked for the name of the organization, the person suddenly changed their story and said it was just their personal name, which I doubt was true. Furthermore, they attempted to provide me with a false address to "visit" them and even tried to give me an account number. At this point, I decided to end the call.

If someone calls you and asks if you have a computer or laptop, it is likely a scam trying to gain access to your system. Do not provide any of your information to this number but instead, simply hang up the phone. It is vital to protect yourself against potential threats like these.

So this guy, who I guess is Asian, stopped pretending to be from "Microsoft tech support" and now he's claiming to be from the UK Government offering me £8000. He was trying to get my bank info so they could send me the money. The call was really loud, I could hear loads of others in the background saying the same stuff, just like before when he was acting as "Microsoft". Honestly, BT or Ofcom need to step in and sort these annoying calls out!
