10 yearsToday, I received a phone call from a chap with a South Asian accent. Thanks to my caller ID, I recognised right off that this wasn't your run-of-the-mill call, so I approached the situation with a bit of scepticism. I've heard plenty of tales about these scams where fraudsters pretend to be Microsoft folks probing about supposedly infected machines, so I thought I'd play along and see what they were up to. It quickly became apparent that my rather vague responses didn't sit well with the caller, and he soon descended into unprofessional behaviour once he realised his ruse was failing. He then bizarrely pivoted to asking if I was familiar with a notorious terrorist. I feigned ignorance and replied that I wasn't, to which he cheekily quipped, "He's your father." At that point, I was almost left speechless, so I simply said goodbye and hung up. How juvenile!Microsoft10 yearsI've had no less than five calls from these pesky folks purporting to be from BT.
