I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise and block em straight away. There's no way I’d pick up on one with a code like that. Looks like it’s from Malawi, if what people here are saying is right. Probably just another scam, so best not to bother answering if you don’t know who’s calling!

Got a missed call from this number at around 6:26pm. I don’t know anyone from Malawi, so I’m guessing it’s a scam.

Someone rang me on this number, but luckily I had my phone set to do not disturb so it never actually rang. I only found out because I got a text telling me I'd missed a call. Like I always do with numbers I don’t know, I looked it up and this site pretty much confirmed my doubts about that odd area code. The annoying thing is when I tried to block it, the number didn’t even appear in my recent calls or missed list, so I couldn’t stop it properly. In the end, I just deleted the text about the missed call and will just ignore if it calls back again!
