Looks like they're still trying their luck. Apparently, my BT internet got hacked or something. Yeah, like I’m gonna believe that! Absolute rubbish.

Got a call from a guy going by ‘Ryan’ claiming to be from BT, warning me about some serious internet security issue. I told him straight that I don’t even have a BT account, so he must’ve dialled the wrong person. Feels like the usual trick where they try to sneak into your computer pretending to be legit. Ended up blocking the number.

Glad we decided to look it up before doing anything, we nearly got caught out! Honestly, these people are so sneaky and scary with how they try to mess with you! Just ended the call quick smart.

We got calls from this number about five times, kept going on and on. The lady said it was from BT and definitely not a scam. We just ignored it and ended up blocking it.

This number rang me up saying they were from BT's security team, warning me that some hackers from abroad were messing with my internet. I asked for our BT account number to verify if it was legit, but the bloke dodged the question, saying he wasn't from the billing department so he couldn’t give that info. He then told me I had just half an hour to sort it out and kept pushing hard. I ended the call pretty quickly once it felt like a total con. Think he spoke with an Indian accent too.

Got a call again this week from someone named Jennifer, sounded Indian, saying there was dodgy overseas stuff going on with my internet. Second time they’ve rung me about it.

Some bloke said he was from BT's internet team, telling me there'd been loads of foreign attacks on my connection. I told him I was aware, said it was just scammers constantly ringing me up. He kept insisting it wasn’t a scam then asked me to get my husband, but then left the phone off the hook and rang off himself. I've gone and blocked that number now.

Today I picked up on the third call from this number. A guy on the other end said he was from BT and told me there was someone trying to hack into my phone line. He wanted to talk to me directly by name. When I began questioning him about how he knew that, he just ended the call. I've got Call Protect and block all international calls (which this one showed as), so I'm not sure how it managed to ring through in the first place.

Honestly, they're such a nuisance, best to just ignore the call if you possibly can.

This number 0026042017 has been ringing me non-stop for weeks now. At first I tried picking up, but it was just silence on the other end before they hung up. It’s really irritating, especially when I’m trying to get on with stuff at home. Now I just let it ring out and leave a voicemail if they want, I’m done answering.

Had another one today, sounded kinda believable at first but fell apart as soon as I asked a few questions. I told the guy he was just messing around and wasting my time. He said he’d ring me back, and honestly, I’m really not looking forward to it.

Got a call from BT just now, blimey they don’t give up easily! Normally I’d just put the phone down, but this time I gave the bloke a good lecture about how we all graft hard for our cash, and how he should be ashamed of trying to con honest, hardworking folks. He told me to chill and hear him out so he could sort the issue, but nah, no thanks - I sorted it myself by hanging up on him!

They're still at it, saying they're calling from London. Definitely didn't come across as any Mr Sean Harris.

What a complete and utter scam! The individual who introduced himself as Derek Thomas had this overly deliberate way of speaking. He claimed to represent BT and warned me about some dubious foreign activity on my router. Funnily enough, it seems the real dodgy activity is happening on my phone while I’m chatting with him! When I pressed him about his employer, he repeated that he was with BT. Curious as I was, I inquired about his location and he recited the address of BT’s London headquarters. Quite the coincidence, I pondered, especially since the number he called from starts with 00260 from Zambia. At that point, I chose to disconnect the call, only for him to ring me back immediately - what a cheeky git!

Got a call from this number which showed up as ‘International’ on my phone. A lady said she was from BT and claimed there was some suspicious activity on our line causing our data usage to spike recently. She never said anything about a virus on the computer but offered to help fix it. I quickly threw her off by mentioning that our broadband is linked with SamKnows - that’s the service Ofcom used years ago to monitor speeds - and explained how the regular upload and download tests could explain any extra data use. I also told her our ISP blocks any illegal connections so there was no need to carry on, then I just ended the call.

Glad to see others think the same. I got a call from this number earlier today and the person said they were from BT Security. I quickly shut them down, telling them to stop talking nonsense and that I’d be reporting them for their dodgy behaviour.

just like the rest, this woman said she was from ‘bt’ and talked about some illegal use of my internet. she kept going on about techy things but i kept rambling more, and she eventually gave up and hung up after looking lost.

SCAM ALERT! Some bloke called Derek Thomas rang me up, talking really slow and clear like he was some sort of pro. He claimed to be with BT and said there was dodgy foreign activity on my router - mind you, it’s actually my phone that’s got someone chatting to me right now! When I asked him who he worked for, he said BT, no hesitation. Then I asked where he was calling from, and he read out the BT head office address in London. Bit suspect, right? Especially since the number he was calling from began with 00260, which is Zambia. I just hung up, but no sooner had I done that than he rang straight back. What a pain in the backside.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT’s communications centre, said there were hackers from abroad messing with my internet. The guy, who called himself Shaun and had a thick Indian accent, told me I had some sort of personal security number - 888dca or something like that. As soon as I ended the call, he kept ringing me back like three times from 0026042017. Proper fishy if you ask me.

Got a call from some bloke who said his name was James Dawney, sounded like one of those dodgy 888dca scams, and he didn’t give up easy. He showed a callback number as 18005906900, but the actual number he rang me from was 0026042017. The guy was going on about hackers trying to mess with my internet and said they’d shut it down in 45 minutes if I didn’t sort it. Total scam, just trying to scare you. Watch out for this one!

Got this call from an Indian call centre pretending to be from some internet security company. They said there was dodgy stuff happening on my internet and offered to sort it out. Said they had some ID for my system or something. Classic 888 DCA scam like others have said. I played along for ages just to waste their time and hopefully save others from the same. When I finally hung up, they rang straight back, sounded really shocked and a bit offended. I told the guy I’m an engineer and he was talking nonsense, then ended the call.

So just around noon today (21/09/17), I got a call from a guy speaking with an Indian accent, saying he was from BT and warning me about some security problem with my IP address. I decided to humour him for a bit, but the moment I told him I wasn’t convinced he was actually with BT, he just ended the call. Another one of those scams, I suppose...

Somebody rang saying they were from BT, told me my internet had been hacked and was acting up. Tried to get my details out of me.

Sounded like they had a mid Asian accent and lots of background noise like a call centre.
