Got a call at 9 in the morning on 19 Jan 2016. Just like a few others mentioned, it was someone from BT but talking with a thick accent. My caller ID made me suspicious right away so I didn’t even answer properly. I told them they were clearly trying to scam me and the bloke just dropped the call, muttering "fook u a** hole" as he went.

I got a call from someone saying my computer was infected with nasty viruses and wanted me to switch it on. They never used my name though, so I asked them to tell me my full name and postcode. When they couldn't, they just ended the call. I rang BT afterwards and they told me they hadn’t contacted me, so it was definitely a scam, but honestly, they didn’t seem very bothered about it!

This number rang me up around 8:45 in the morning. A man speaking with a heavy foreign accent said he was from BT and insisted my internet was hacked overnight. I asked him straight how much he intended to con out of me. He yelled, "You listen here!" I fired back, "No, you listen! I don’t even use BT broadband!" Then he just cut me off.

At about half past two in the morning, he claimed hackers had been trying to get into my computer and said he could sort it out. Then he wanted me to type stuff so he could access my machine! It all blew up into a big argument when I asked him to give me details about my BT account.

Got a call from this number super early today, around 8:30. The bloke on the phone had a really thick accent and his English was all over the place. He started banging on about my internet being full of viruses and that I'd be cut off because of my computer or something. I just pretended to believe him for a bit, then told him to shove it and said I’d be reporting them to the police and Ofcom. Voila, blocked the number right away.

Got a call today around 8.20am from a woman claiming they were going to cancel my broadband service. She began with the usual "are you the householder, madam?" When I asked her for my BT account details, she just cut me off and ended the call.

Got a call at 9.42 in the morning. I usually ignore international numbers unless they're from people I trust and have saved. Didn't pick up this time either, but I did have a look to see if it was some kind of annoying spammer.

Got a call warning me my internet was full of viruses and they'd disconnect it. I told them I wasn’t interested and just ended the call straight away.

Got a call at 9 in the morning saying my BT Broadband had been badly hacked. Since I don’t even have BT for my internet, I just ended the call right there!

This morning I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my broadband. They wanted me to switch on my computer so they could help me fix it by guiding me through some menus. I told them to wait and just left the phone running for about ten minutes before ending the call. They rang me back saying the line had dropped, but I told them straight that I ended it and to stop calling me.

Somebody rang pretending to be from BT, saying my internet had been used between midnight and 2 in the morning, asking me to turn on my laptop. I just told them off nicely, said 'get lost', and they ended the call.

Got another call saying that there was an attempt to use my internet last night between midnight and 2am. They claimed to be from BT. I told them I'd just end the call and contact BT directly, then they went quiet and hung up on me!

This number has rung me up 3 times now. The first time, the person said my BT account had issues and claimed I’d used too much data, asking me to get on my computer. Bit strange since my data’s unlimited anyway, so I quickly told them to shove it. The other two times, when I answered, they just ended the call straight away. Looks like the calls are coming from Uganda.

Got a call from someone pretending to be BT Tech Support saying my internet was involved in some dodgy stuff. I decided to humour them and asked what the next step was. Of course, the usual chat about remote access came up. I told them I'd boot up my laptop so they could do their so-called checks and then put the phone near the TV where me little girl was watching some loud kids show. Cranked up the volume and when I checked back after about 10 minutes, the call had been dropped. Bit of a letdown, really.

This number rang me early today, telling me my PC was downloading dodgy stuff and that my internet would be suspended for three months. I told them I was shutting my computer off, and then they just hung up. Honestly, I only picked up because it woke me and I thought it was a mate checking if I was alright.
