Got a call from this number early this morning around 8.20 am. I picked up and some woman with a really weird voice just starts going on like, "Hi, I've been waiting for you to ring, it’s been ages since we last talked." I’m in Australia and got a call from this number at 10:10pm on 19/03/17, they just rang once then hung up. It said it was from somewhere called Seychelles, not sure what that is. I looked it up on Google and ended up here, had a bad feeling it was some kind of scam. I use the Optus network.

From what I've seen on other boards, it looks like ee and Vodafone numbers get hit the most with this stuff. Has anyone actually reached out to their network about the number? If you have, could you share any tips or warnings they gave? My phone gave me a heads up before picking up that the call was international, but I reckon the mobile firms are the ones making money from these calls rather than the caller. I saw someone mention on a different site that after ringing their provider to check if charges would apply, the company didn’t really warn them about the high fees that might show up.
