Some bloke rang claiming to be from Norton Security, saying there was an update needed. I told him I’d just done a security update yesterday and gave a polite "keep lost" message. Fingers crossed they take the hint. I’ve saved the number in my phone as ‘Scam Artists’ so I’ll know not to pick up if they call again.

This number has rung me twice just within the last hour. Each time, there's been complete silence when I pick up, which seems like a waste of both our time - they could be doing something more useful. If this is an international call, I’m seriously thinking about halting any charity donations I make to that country.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media saying there was an issue with my internet. I asked them to just email me instead. When I said I didn’t think they were really from Virgin Media, they stopped calling.

Woke up to a call today from someone who already had my email, though I never gave it to them. They claimed they were from Norton and said my antivirus wasn’t working right because something was interfering with it. They tried to transfer me to their “specialist” team to sort it out. I told them I wasn’t comfortable letting anyone access my computer remotely and that I'd call Norton using the official number I have on another phone. After that, the guy just hung up. Sounds like a total scam to me.

Got a call from this number earlier today which was quite unsettling as the person seemed to already know my email, which I never gave out. They’ve called me before claiming there was some kind of scam affecting my internet. Just last week, they rang saying my internet was acting up and threatened to cut it off. The caller spoke with a strange accent and said they were from BT.

I've had about eight calls from these lot today. The first time I waited a bit coz there was this lag, then I caught the accent and just hung up straight away. After that, they kept calling but I heard nothing on the other end, just silence. The final one came up as withheld, and they were asking for me by name. When I asked who it was, they claimed to be from UK benefits. Don't be taken in though, it's definitely an insurance scam trying to rope you in.

Some bloke claiming to be from Nortons rang me about my antivirus or something like that. Eventually, he asked which operating system I was using. I told him Windows 3.1, cos I’ve got this ancient computer. He just went "Blimey!" after that.

Got two calls from this number. The person on the other end spoke with a strange accent and I could hardly make out what they were saying. When I questioned them, they just ended the call. Honestly, these kinds of calls are just straight-up annoying and feel like an invasion of privacy. They really ought to be blocked.

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Indian, asking straight for my husband by name. I told him he wasn't around and asked who it was. They just hung up after that. I even tried checking on some Google groups but couldn't find anything.

Some dodgy Indian call centre claiming to be Norton kept ringing me asking to switch on my computer to check stuff. When I said no, they just hung up on me. Tried calling the number back but it says it’s not a real number. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Some bloke said he was ringing from my internet provider but wouldn’t say which one. I’m certain it wasn’t my actual ISP as they always use UK numbers to call. On the third call, the person actually spoke and got my first name right, but muddled my last name a bit. I could hear a lot of other voices in the background, making it hard to understand what they wanted. Then, suddenly, they just ended the call.

It turns out the number is from somewhere in the Democratic Republic of Congo! I've now set a unique ringtone for that one and blocked it straight away.
