Just got a call from this number, showed up as Liberia. Like, who in Liberia would even wanna talk to me? How do they even get my number from all these random countries?? Honestly, it's annoying. I use a mobile security app that blocks all calls from abroad, no way am I paying to pick up some overseas call, that's just asking for bills to go up. Best thing is to block it and don't bother answering, just decline straight away.

I've recently discovered that this number hails from Somalia. Curiously, I’ve only begun to receive these calls after I made some purchases on Amazon. Today, it dawned on me that my phone number was unfortunately displayed on the exterior of a package I received from a Chinese seller via Amazon. I am now planning to reach out to Amazon to understand why my contact details were shared like that.

They rang me and then stopped after a few rings, probably trying to get me to ring them back. Don’t bother calling back, it’s a scam and could end up costing a bomb.

Complete rubbish calls. I get them non stop, all day every day, mostly from somalia and liberia (haha, does liberia even have any call centres?). The message always cracks me up, something like "Please not hang up" - hilarious!

Got a call from a Liberia number, my iPhone showed the country so I knew straight away. An automated voice was saying they were putting me through to the Financial Director or something like that. I’m not bothered about these calls at all, so I blocked the number last night when they first rang me after 10pm. Then another call came from a different number but still from Liberia, this time early in the morning around 9am. I decided to search the number and found myself on this forum.

This is a premium number, best not to pick up or ring back. They keep you on the line to push your phone bill up. It’s a classic con, now done with Liberian digits. The missed call trick goes by the name Wangiri scam, started in Japan about ten years ago. Wangiri basically means 'one ring then hang up'.

Got a call about 6 in the evening, picked up but nobody spoke. When they rang again, I was already chatting to someone else so it went straight to voicemail. The message said it was a priority call and to wait on the line. After reading what folks said here, I’ve blocked and deleted the number. Cheers for the heads up, never dealt with a scam like this before.
