I received a call claiming to be about a debt advice regarding loans that I was said to have. However, I want to clarify that I don't possess any loans. In order to verify the legitimacy of the call, I requested the caller's website address so I could check their credentials. Surprisingly, the person abruptly ended the call. On 16/05/2017, I got a call from 002127773456. It was a woman speaking with an Indian accent, talking about some 'unsecured debts'. She wouldn’t tell me her name or give a contact number. I said we’re on the telephone preference service and she just said she would take us off their list. I looked up the number using 1471.

Pretending to be debt consultants, they claimed to be contacting me regarding a scheme launched by the government to assist individuals facing financial obligations. They adamantly refused to disclose the name of their company, merely stating that they were affiliated with the Advisory Department. As I do not have any outstanding debts, I promptly ended the call- clearly an attempted scam.

I received a rather dubious call from this number, with someone purporting to represent 'Windows Operating System'. They insisted I connect my computer, just like another user mentioned before. I responded that I couldn't do so at the moment and asked them how I might verify their legitimacy as a company. Their English became even more muddled, and they seemed unable to provide me with proper answers.

I have been receiving multiple phone calls every day from someone with a foreign accent and very limited English language skills. Even after I clarified that I was not the person they were looking for, they insisted that it didn't matter and claimed to solve unethical activity on my IP address. It was clear that they were not representatives from Sky, our internet service provider, so I promptly ended the call.

If/when they call, simply reply with "alright". Proceed to switch on my computer and inform them to go downstairs. After a few minutes, mention that it takes some time for the computer to turn on and load up. While they wait, I will take the opportunity to have a shower. Even after waiting for half an hour, they will still find me saying "okay, my iPad is now operational, what's next?" Lastly, they abruptly ended the call, which made me laugh.
