Around 9.15 this morning my phone rang. I usually let it go to answerphone first to see who’s calling. Nothing was left on the machine so I thought they’d hung up. When I picked up to dial 1471, they were still there. The person had an English name but sounded Asian. The line was bad so it was hard to hear, but when they asked if I get nuisance calls I said yes, including from them. They denied it and mentioned something about blocking calls. I told them that’s something I can do with my phone provider, then ended the call.

On 4th November 2016 at 5:22 PM, I received a call from someone seeking to talk to my ailing mother. When I inquired about his intentions, he bluntly countered with a question of his own, asking what I was after, claiming he could procure "anything" I desired. I didn’t respond, and then he simply ended the call. The chap had an Indian accent.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent who insisted he was my mum's husband, she’s 73, by the way. He refused to accept her saying no and even went on about the 'great time' they supposedly had last night. The calls kept going, even when my dad answered the phone. It felt a bit different from the usual calls people mention, like maybe they’re trying to scare folks about nuisance calls and then ring back to sell some kind of service to block them? Weird tactic if you ask me.

Received a rather dubious phone call today from someone trying to fish for credit card information. They seemed to have roots in either India or Pakistan. The conversation ended abruptly as soon as I pressed for the name of the company. Quite a suspicious encounter, to say the least!

Someone with a strange accent called claiming to be from BT, TalkTalk, Sky and Virgin, saying they were helping to stop nuisance calls. He asked my elderly mum for the card she uses to pay our phone bill. When I asked if there was a cost involved, he said there wasn't any weekly, monthly or yearly fee but still kept pushing for the card info. I told him straight up that a free service shouldn't need card details. After that, he got really rude and just ended the call.

I had a rather suspicious interaction with a company claiming to be Secure Calls Ltd. When I requested their office location, they couldn't provide any information. It seemed they had simply resorted to a quick online search. They were definitely fishing for my card information. A gentleman with an Asian accent referred to himself as Peter Watson, while another, who identified as Benjamin Parker, was also on the call. The whole thing felt extremely dodgy and I reckon it’s a scam.

They said they were from Secure Calls Ltd but couldn’t provide any proper office address. Seemed like they had just googled stuff. They kept pushing for my card info. The guy on the phone, who had an Asian accent, called himself Peter Watson, and his mate said he was Benjamin Parker - felt really sketchy, definitely a scam.

Today, I received a call from an Asian lady claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. She knew my name and address and proceeded to ask me to verify my debit card details, mentioning that it started with a 4. She insisted she already had the information but needed my confirmation. I didn't trust her and told her so, at which point she abruptly hung up. Definitely a scam!

I got a call from someone claiming they already had my bank info and just wanted my card expiry date. They kept saying if I didn’t provide it, they’d charge me £99 extra for some call blocking device. Had to tell them no about five times before they finally hung up.

Got a call from a guy who sounded Indian, said he was gonna send me a gadget to stop those annoying cold calls. He kinda made it sound like I was daft for not knowing he needed my card details to send it. Said I’d signed up with them like 5 years ago, which I’m sure I didn’t. Oddly enough, he even had my full address. I asked him to take me off their list but honestly, doubt they’ll actually do it.

There was this bloke from Leicester, might have been c### K###an Q###um, who called me claiming he could stop scam calls for a bit of cash. Asked me for my bank info, which I knew was dodgy straight away. When I turned him down, he bizarrely started making weird comments about me and my missus. This happened near Spinney Hill, Leicester back in 2016. Totally a con, watch out folks!

Some bloke from India rang me about some nuisance calls. I quickly told him to leave me alone and never ring me back. I soon realised it was a dodgy scam, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Received a call while I was out and about. They didn’t bother to leave a message, which raises a few red flags for me. Also, I noticed that the code 0020 corresponds to Egypt. Quite curious, isn’t it?

I just got a phone from some guy with an Indian accent, number 0020977932769. He claimed he’d heard I was getting loads of annoying telemarketer calls and surveys. Said he was calling from "Call Blocking" and promised from now on I wouldn’t get these calls anymore. I told him that was up to my network provider and that I never dialled him in the first place. Didn’t trust him one bit - there are way too many scammers these days. Told him to take me off his list and never ring me again. Stay cautious out there.

some bloke with a strong indian accent called me saying his name was justin, talking about how to block cold calls. when i dialled the number back it just said it was unrecognised, which didn’t really surprise me at all.
