They rang me about 3 times today and a bunch yesterday, maybe 4 or 5. Every call just ended up silent or no answer. The last one I picked up, and I could hear someone giggling in the background. Weird!

Received about 7 calls already today. When I pick up, I can hear people chatting like it's a call centre, but no one actually speaks to me and the line just cuts off.

this bloke rang me saying he was from the tps, i just ended the call straight away. a bit later he called again asking why i’d cut him off. i told him to stop bothering me and he got all shouty and rude, then hung up on me. not long after, he rang back being nasty, so my husband answered and he kept insulting him, even called him a “bloody englisher” or something. proper awful guy.

I got a call from someone saying they were from TPS, supposedly ‘updating’ my information. Oddly, they already had my husband’s name and our address, then asked me for my full name and dob. The moment they asked if I pay my phone bill by direct debit, I knew something was off, even though I’d already been a bit wary. I wasn’t giving them my real details, that’s for sure. I reckon anyone who’s not as sceptical as me might easily get fooled by their convincing act.

I got this same call about eight times just today and everytime there was nobody speaking when I answered. Being disabled, it’s pretty upsetting and stressful to deal with. Does anyone know how I can put an end to these annoying calls?

I kept saying hello but got no reply, not even a peep. After my third try, they just hung up. Guess my voice was enough to scare them away lol.

I’ve noticed that the numbers 002090256779 and 02090256779 seem to be the same, just with the first number having an extra zero at the start. I already reported both of these. Also, when I tried calling 14102090256779 and 141002090256779, neither went through or showed up. The calls I got were from 002090256779 on 25th July 2016 at 1:37pm, then again at 2:31pm. The other number, 02090256779, rang on 26th July at 10:16am and on the 25th of July at 12:58pm. Just wanted to share this pattern I found!

I keep getting calls from this number, or sometimes just one zero at the start, and they say they’re from the TPS. I’ve already told the action fraud helpline about it - think others should report them as well.

I got a call from someone saying they were with the telephone preference management service, but it sounded off, like they were trying to trick folks by using a name suspiciously similar to TPS. The person on the other side had a weird accent too. I just hung up straight away.

Pretty clear that was a call centre trying to get through - there was a pause right after I picked up, and a foreign-accented lady came on. She already had my name, which was creepy. I just stayed silent for a moment to see how long she’d hang on before I lost it and told her to buzz off. It’s so frustrating because while we want to block these dodgy foreign scam calls, some important international ones still need to get through, so you can't just shut off all overseas numbers.
