I’ve had about five calls today from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk, saying there’s an issue with my router. Pretty annoying!

For the past few days, I've been getting calls from this number multiple times daily. Whenever I notice it’s an international call, I just ignore it, but it’s still kinda annoying. After seeing what others have said, I’m probably gonna block it.

Utter charlatans posing as representatives from TalkTalk, but they're definitely not the real deal. They likely nicked a slew of names and phone numbers from the recent TalkTalk data breach. Whatever you do, ignore their demands and just cut the call!

002085925878 Got a call from a pretty noisy call centre, sounded like someone from India on the other end. I just hung up straight away. This kind of thing happens all the time, so I guess it’s profitable enough for them to keep hiring loads of people just to do this. Wish there was some kind of hidden camera show that could expose what they’re really up to! Definitely a scam!

Every day, I'm inundated with these phone calls. The English being spoken is dreadful, accompanied by an accent so thick you could cut it with a knife, and it's supposedly from Talk Talk, with some individual attempting to gain access to my computer. When I inquired if she could hear me properly, she emphatically replied, “YES.” In response, I let out a huge bellow into the receiver. I plan to keep this up consistently; eventually, they’ll struggle to catch even a whisper!

Got a call from this number claiming to be from TalkTalk’s tech support, saying someone was accessing my router. It’s a scam just like those fake Microsoft Windows calls, so don’t answer or just hang up - they want to steal your details.

Received a call today (22nd August) at 15:00 from this number. Just as others have mentioned, a woman with limited English from what sounded like a chaotic call centre informed me she was from Talk Talk, claiming someone was trying to break into my router. She probed me about flashing lights, much like what others have described. I was on my laptop at the time, and everything seemed fine, which raised my suspicions. She insisted I press the Windows key along with Ctrl and R. When I inquired what that would achieve, she offered no explanation but repeated her request to press the keys. I asked again what it was for, at which point a gentleman with a similar struggle to communicate took over, declaring himself the engineer. He wanted me to perform the same action. I decided to give him a bit of a surprise by blowing hard on the football whistle I had nearby!

I received a call purportedly from TalkTalk and decided to reach out to them directly. To my astonishment, they confirmed it wasn't them at all. It really unsettled me!

I received a phone call from this number today. They claimed that my Talktalk router had been compromised and assured me they could resolve the issue. When I requested some verification of their identity, they rattled off my name, address, postcode, and a Talktalk reference number that I wasn't familiar with. I mentioned that Talktalk has a history of mishandling customer information, which seemed to take them by surprise. They then proceeded to inquire about the colour of the blinking light on my router and asked me to boot up my computer. I firmly stated I wouldn't comply, and that’s when they presented me with an ultimatum: either they'd fix the issue or disconnect my broadband. When I questioned them about the potential disconnection, their tone shifted to irritation before they abruptly hung up. I'm hopeful that I'm now on their list of customers who are simply not worth their time.

I just had a rather suspicious phone call from this number claiming to be from TalkTalk. They asked for my ID number and password, saying there was an issue with my internet connection. As I was just about to challenge them-seeing as everything was fine on my end-they suddenly cut the line. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I never pick up calls when the number is hidden, or if it’s an international one starting with 00 or from out of area. I usually look them up on this site first and if it turns out to be spam or some sort of scam, I just block them straight away.

I happened to be out and about when this number called me. After dialling 1471, I realised I didn’t recognise it, so I took the liberty of looking it up here. I’ve made a rule not to pick up calls I’m not familiar with and always check recent numbers before deciding whether to call back. No desire to be on the receiving end of some foul language, thank you very much!

This morning I got a call from someone pretending to be from BT, saying my browser was picking up dodgy files and they had to shut off my internet. They wanted me to open my laptop so they could guide me through what to do next. I handed the phone over to a family member who's used to dealing with scam calls. The chat quickly got heated, with the caller shouting and threatening to cut our internet. My relative just told them to go ahead and then ended the call.

Received a rather unsettling call at 9:49 this morning, 11th August 2016. These persistent callers have been at it for days! Most of the time, when I pick up, there's just a jarring silence followed by an annoying crackling sound. However, today was slightly different. A woman on the other end claimed she was from Virgin and insisted that my internet had been compromised. She then proceeded to instruct me to check the lights on my router. When she asked me to change my IP address and go to my computer, I had to inform her that I only use a tablet. You wouldn't believe the language she used after that, before hanging up! Honestly, I found the whole experience quite distressing. But after seeing what others have shared, I thought it was only right to pass on my experience. If you get a call like this, I’d advise you to hang up immediately and not engage. It’s truly a shame for those who might not be savvy with technology and could be caught up in such nonsense!

They keep ringing saying they're from Sky, talking about my internet. Total scam, no doubt. Every time I mention I don’t actually have internet, they get really cheeky and rude. Proper annoying!

My spouse received a call from this number and endured some truly vile sexual remarks when she inquired about how he obtained our details. Thankfully, she’s incredibly resilient and didn’t let it bother her too much. Nonetheless, this behaviour is absolutely outrageous.

It's half past twelve, and I've received four calls from this number already today. Each time I pick up and greet them with a "hello," but there’s no one on the line. On the fifth attempt, my husband took the call, and still, the line remained silent. All I can hear are some strange crackling sounds in the background. Quite unsettling, really!

I got a call off someone claiming to be from Sky, and they ended up swearing at me!

I received a call from this number claiming to be from Sky. I decided to play along for a bit, and after around 15 minutes of back-and-forth, I revealed that I no longer had any services with them. I told them to cut out the nonsense and stop scamming innocent folks. To add a bit of drama, I mentioned that I was part of the police force and would be tracing their number. It’s absolutely outrageous what they think they can get away with!

On the 22nd of July, 2016, at precisely 13:47, my wife received a rather dodgy call purportedly from "SKY." The caller claimed that two individuals had been fiddling with our broadband during the night, supposedly reaching out to Malaysia. Allegedly, this could be sorted out by tinkering with our computer's settings. When my wife sought proof of the caller's legitimacy by asking for our account number-since it's in my name-he rather conveniently failed to request me directly, though he did mention our surname. To make matters worse, he first provided an incorrect account number; when pressed to repeat it, he offered a completely different one! My wife, not being fooled by his shifty responses, decided to hang up.

This number has been ringing me incessantly, four times within just a couple of hours! Each time I pick up, there’s a completely deafening silence-nobody responds at all. Then, without so much as a word, they hang up. Quite baffling, really!
