I’ve had about five calls today from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk, saying there’s an issue with my router. Pretty annoying!

For the past few days, I've been getting calls from this number multiple times daily. Whenever I notice it’s an international call, I just ignore it, but it’s still kinda annoying. After seeing what others have said, I’m probably gonna block it.

Watch out for these scammers pretending they're from Talk Talk - they’re definitely not legit. Seems like they’ve nabbed a load of details from that recent TalkTalk breach. Don’t listen to a word they say, just put the phone down straight away!

002085925878 Got a call from a pretty noisy call centre, sounded like someone from India on the other end. I just hung up straight away. This kind of thing happens all the time, so I guess it’s profitable enough for them to keep hiring loads of people just to do this. Wish there was some kind of hidden camera show that could expose what they’re really up to! Definitely a scam!

I've been getting calls like this almost every day now. The lady on the line had a really thick accent and bad English, said she was from Talk Talk trying to get onto my computer. I asked if she could hear me okay and she said yes, so next thing I did was shout as loud as I could down the phone. I make sure to do that every time - I'm sure they won't be able to hear anyone after a while!

Got a call from this number claiming to be from TalkTalk’s tech support, saying someone was accessing my router. It’s a scam just like those fake Microsoft Windows calls, so don’t answer or just hang up - they want to steal your details.

Got a call from this number today (22/8) at around 3pm. Like others mentioned, it was a woman with quite broken English, background was noisy like some dodgy call centre. She claimed to be from Talk Talk and said someone was trying to hack my router. She asked if I noticed any flashing lights, just like someone else here said. I was on my laptop at the time with no issues, so I was pretty sceptical. Then she told me to hit the Windows key plus Ctrl and R. When I asked what that would do, she couldn’t explain and just kept telling me to press them. I checked again what it’s supposed to do. Then a bloke with the same poor English came on and said he’s the engineer, asked me to do the exact same thing! I told him to listen carefully and then blew a football referee whistle I had nearby. Took him completely off guard!

Just got a call supposedly from TalkTalk, so I rang them back to check and it turns out it wasn’t them at all. Really creepy experience!

Got a ring from this number today, they claimed my Talktalk router was compromised and offered to fix it. When I asked for proof, they read out my full name, address, postcode and some kind of Talktalk reference that meant nothing to me. I mentioned how Talktalk has had issues accidentally leaking customer info before, which seemed to catch them off guard. Then they wanted me to tell them the colour of the blinking light on my router and fire up my computer. I told them no way. Next thing, they gave me the ultimatum: either sort it out or they’d cut my broadband. When I asked, "You’re really going to cut off my internet?" they sounded annoyed, a bit cross even, and then hung up. Hopefully, I’m now on their list of people not to waste time on.

I was just called by this number and they claimed to be from TalkTalk, asking me for my ID and password due to an issue with my internet. I told them I wasn’t having any problems at all, and they quickly ended the call right after.

I never pick up calls when the number is hidden, or if it’s an international one starting with 00 or from out of area. I usually look them up on this site first and if it turns out to be spam or some sort of scam, I just block them straight away.

I was out when this number called me. I tried 1471 but didn't know who it was, so I looked it up here. Now I won't pick up unless I know the number, and I’ll only call back people I recognise. No need for any rude calls!

This morning I got a call from someone pretending to be from BT, saying my browser was picking up dodgy files and they had to shut off my internet. They wanted me to open my laptop so they could guide me through what to do next. I handed the phone over to a family member who's used to dealing with scam calls. The chat quickly got heated, with the caller shouting and threatening to cut our internet. My relative just told them to go ahead and then ended the call.

I got a call this morning at 9:49am on 11/08/16. They’ve been ringing me nonstop for a few days, but usually when I pick up, the line just goes dead or there’s this awful crackling noise. Today, though, a woman said she was calling from Virgin, claiming my internet had been compromised. She asked me to check the lights on my router and then insisted I needed to change my IP address by going onto my computer. I told her I don’t even own a computer, just a tablet, and she swore at me before hanging up. Honestly, it unsettled me a bit but after seeing other folks’ experiences, I thought I’d share what happened. Don’t stress about it and just hang up if someone calls like this - I feel sorry for anyone who isn’t too savvy with broadband stuff.

They keep ringing saying they're from Sky, talking about my internet. Total scam, no doubt. Every time I mention I don’t actually have internet, they get really cheeky and rude. Proper annoying!

When my wife answered this number, the caller started saying really nasty, inappropriate things after she asked where he got our phone number from. Thankfully, she's pretty tough and didn’t let it upset her, but honestly, this sort of behaviour is just not on at all.

So far today, it’s about half past twelve, I’ve received four calls from this number already. Whenever I pick up and say “hello,” there’s just silence on the other end. The fifth call, my husband took it, but again, no one said a word. We could hear some weird crackling sounds in the back noise though.

Got a call from this number claiming to be Sky earlier. I played along for a bit, but after a good 15 minutes I said I don’t even use Sky anymore. I told them to cut the scams and warned I’m a police officer, so I’ll be tracking the number. Seriously, how can they try to take advantage of people like that?

At 13:47 on 22/07/16, my wife got a call claiming it was from "SKY", saying that two people had been using our broadband in the early hours to ring Malaysia. They said it could be fixed by changing some settings on our computer. To check if the bloke was legit, my wife asked him to confirm by giving our account number - which is under my name, so he should've insisted on speaking to me, but he didn’t even ask, though he knew our last name. He then gave a wrong account number and when she asked him to repeat it, he came up with a different one! Seeing this, my wife told him she wasn’t convinced and hung up.

In the past couple of hours, this number has rung me four times. When I finally pick up, I stay silent but so does whoever’s calling, then they just hang up. Strange behaviour.
