Just got a call from 01205 648900, which is a Boston number - funny enough I used to live there. The guy said he was from British Savers, but when I asked where he was calling from, he mumbled something like Reading. The bloke called himself Jack but definitely sounded like he was from Pakistan. It was all rubbish so I just ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke who said his name was just “Pry” when I asked for a last name, he wouldn’t give one. He was ringing from some place called “Savers Club”. Weirdly, he acted like he already knew my name but I told him I didn’t know him. Then he tried to get me to do a survey and started asking about my home stuff, but I wasn’t having any of it. It was the first time they called and honestly, I don’t get why they bother if people aren’t interested.

The UK Savers Club is operated by a UK firm called VERSO (Verso Group[###]). You can ring them on 01582 763 090 to complain about the annoying calls they make to your elderly family members or how they bother your recently bereaved friends at inappropriate times. They probably won’t take any notice, as I doubt they have any real morals or ethics, but you can email them at [email protected][###] to ask what info they hold on you and to request they remove it. I’ve been going through the same nonsense as everyone else. I keep blocking every number using BT’s tool, but then they just ring from another one. Today, I told the caller he was from Saver’s Club, working for Consumer Lifestyle, and yet he still tried to ‘just say’ something. Does anyone know where I can find a phone number or email to report these to mobile providers? Cheers! I felt something was off with these calls. They spoke with a really poor English accent. After a quick Google, I found out UK Savers Club Ltd was shut down on 28 March 2017 (company no. 09826426), based at 83 Ducie Street, Manchester. The company’s been dissolved for a long time, but they’re still calling!

I'd recommend dropping them an email to have your details removed, and if the calls don’t stop, then you should report them to the ICO.

Got called for the third time in just three days, this time it was ‘Frank’ from the Savers Club, but from a new number again (07601620090). Last time they said I’d already done a survey, today he claimed he was actually running the survey. I kept telling him he was breaking rules by calling me when I’m on the TPS list, but he just kept saying it was a household survey. Eventually he gave up and hung up. Normally I just say ‘no thanks’ and hang up straight away, but it was a bit satisfying having a proper back and forth for once!

He even knew my name - I’m ex-directory, so they must be getting their info from somewhere dodgy. I had to ask him twice who he was because of his accent, then he asked if I’d answer a few questions. They just wont shut up. I work from home and get about 5 calls a day from savers club. I tried saying I got a weak bladder and cant really chat, then started going on about my kid’s nappies. I’ve had pretty much the same run-ins as everyone else. What’s worked for me is this: when they call next time, if you can, ask them to hold on a sec, then just hang up but don’t actually end the call properly. It keeps their line open and still racks up charges for them. I’ve done this with a few cold callers from other countries and after a couple of days, no more calls at all. The TPS only blocks phone numbers from the UK, so it doesn’t stop those from abroad. If more people tried this trick, I reckon these callers would shift their attention elsewhere. Hope it helps!

Savers Club just keeps ringing and swearing at them doesn’t make a difference. Honestly, I’ve lost track of how many calls I get daily. The one thing I’ve noticed is they stay silent for a few seconds when you pick up, so now I just hang up straight away. They use loads of different numbers too. It’s now 20/08/16 and I’m honestly fed up with all these annoying calls. Can’t keep track of how many times they’ve rung us, but there were around half a dozen just yesterday and already four today alone. The person on the line never manages to say our name right and talks so fast, it’s impossible to make out what they’re saying. We’ve been getting bombarded like this for weeks, even though we’re signed up with the telephone preference service and have told them to stop calling us.

She claimed it would just be two quick questions but then started asking for my name and age, so I told her that was already the two! She said she was calling on behalf of some 'top British firms' but wouldn’t say which ones. Then she tried to keep going with more questions but I just hung up. Got loads of calls from U.K. Savers Club all last week. They told me straight up they'd keep ringing every day until I answered their questions. Every time I refused and said I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service and would report them, the call just ended. Then the very next day, some guy with an Indian accent called claiming to be from the TPS and said they could update my details for £15. Honestly, it feels like harassment to keep pestering people like this. But what else can you do if reporting them doesn’t seem to stop it? Just a heads up to watch out.

I got a call from Chloe at British Savers Club, coming from 020 8150 7540. I’d already asked someone else from that group to take me off their list before. When I tried to find out what the British Savers Club actually was, she just brushed me off and kept pushing to get my personal info like my name, address, and age. I told her my number was ex-directory and I wasn’t interested in any offers from companies, but she just ignored what I said. Eventually, I had to speak louder to make it clear I wasn’t having any of it, and then she just hung up on me. Well, that was that!

I’ve had this firm ring me up about five times now. Every single time I’ve asked them to take me off their calling list, but they just end the call abruptly. This last time, the woman on the phone was really pushy, so I warned her I’m going to report them for making nuisance calls.
