These calls are proper annoying. I don’t think BT can stop them cos they come from overseas. My advice is to keep a personal alarm nearby and press it down the phone when they ring. Or just leave them hanging on the line - let them waste their own money instead!

For those using BT, there's a "Privacy" setting where you can block all international calls. The drawback is that any mates ringing from overseas won’t be able to reach you either...

I've been getting calls from a few different numbers like this one. Often, they just block their caller ID which is super annoying. They say they know who I am, but I never say anything to confirm. Sometimes they say they're from the government offering me PPI refunds, other times a consumer organisation, or even trying to help with some Microsoft hacking issue. It's all so frustrating!

I got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who kept going on about fixing a Microsoft issue on my computer. I told him to shove off but stuck around to hear what he’d say next. This back and forth went on a few times, with him just keep harping about the ‘computer’. Then he suddenly threatened, saying ‘I’m gonna hack your computer, f*** off.’ I just replied with ‘yeah, you too’. And that was that, call ended there.

I keep getting calls from this number multiple times daily, even late at night. When I finally answered, the lady on the line wasn't very straightforward about who she was calling on behalf of. She mentioned a couple of companies but kept pushing me to stay on the phone until I ended it myself. Yet, the calls haven’t slowed down at all. What can I do to make them stop?

At last someone got through and asked for me by name, saying they were from a consumer firm and wanted to ask a few things. I asked which firm they were with, but he just said he had a few questions. When I pressed again for the company name, he suddenly just ended the call! Weird behaviour!

Since Monday 26th May, this number has pretty much kept ringing us up about 7 times, plus a few times a bit earlier too. They ring at all sorts of hours. At first, there's a brief silence, then you hear some sort of background noise, and eventually someone asks to speak to us. We've told them to stop calling several times but they just ignore us. Lately, we’ve just been hanging up straight away without saying anything.
