I picked up thinking it might be a call from abroad. There was a lady with an American accent saying she was from a marketing firm, but I couldn't really catch the company name since it was sudden and her accent threw me off. She asked for me by name and even mentioned my address, then asked if I’d be up for answering a few questions. I told her I wasn’t comfortable sharing any info or taking part, so I just said thanks and ended the call. Fingers crossed being courteous stops them from calling again. Sadly, my landline doesn’t have a block number feature.

this lady who called herself audrey started asking me a bunch of questions about household stuff. she already had my name, address, postcode, and phone number which was a bit creepy. i told her i wasn’t interested and asked her not to ring me again, but she got quite petulant and threatened to call me daily until i answered her. i told her i was feeling a bit harrassed, but she just said she’d carry on calling regardless. does anyone know how to make her stop?

Got a call from this number around 8.20 in the evening. A woman with an accent I couldn't place kept asking about my late wife. When I asked who she was, she just wanted to know if I was related. On the evening of 20/07/16, I got a call from this number. When I asked why they were ringing, the person just ignored my question and kept going with their spiel. I told them I didn’t want to know who they were, and their response was, "I’m your husband’s mistress, ha ha ha." Honestly, it really freaked me out and felt quite threatening, especially since my husband is seriously ill with a brain tumour right now.

Probably not ideal, but they really ought to respect it when people say no.
