Got a call from someone pretending to be BT, saying my internet line was about to be cut off because they detected too many devices trying to hack into my computer. They told me to hit the Windows key and the R key together to open some command box on my PC. When I asked who they were for verification, they only mentioned BT head office at 91 Newgate London, which just sounded dodgy. I ended the call straight away. Definitely a scam. The number they called from was 024490878758.

I got a call from this number earlier this evening, but I just didn’t pick up. It’s rung a few times already, but I usually avoid answering unknown numbers, especially when they’ve got 12 digits like this one. These kinds of calls are really annoying. Honestly, they should do something to stop them.

On June 8th 2017, I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT's tech support, they asked if I was the primary account holder. Right after, the caller just disconnected without saying anything else.

Today I got a call from someone saying they were with BT and that there was an issue with my BT Hub. They even managed to mention BT's head office address and postcode and seemed well prepared with answers when I asked for verification. But the call came from an Egyptian area code, which was a big red flag. Definitely a scam, so be careful and don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone pretending to be from BT saying my broadband was being used by like 18 other devices around me. I wasn't convinced at all. So I rang up SKY, who actually handle my broadband through BT, and they told me straight away it was a scam. Glad I didn't fall for it and just ended the call.

It was clear this was some kind of call centre - I heard people chatting in the background and loads of paper rustling. They stayed quiet when I answered, so I just ended the call. This is the fourth dodgy call I’ve had in just a couple of days.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT tech support. But their number looked Egyptian, so I knew it was a scam straight away. Definitely not British Telecom! Don’t share any info with them, no matter what. They’ll try ringing back a few times so just ignore.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent, could hear loads of others chatting behind him. He said he was from BT and told me our broadband was being accessed by strangers. Kept cutting me off whenever I tried to talk. Ended up calling him a few names before slamming the phone down!

Got a call from a lady who started with "Very good to you," so I responded with "Very good to you too" and had a chuckle. She quickly snapped, asking why I was laughing, so I gave a bigger, over-the-top laugh - a bit forced really. Then she told me to "f##k off" twice before hanging up. She said it twice, maybe because she wasn’t sure how to say it right the first time, like she was reading from a script or something. This is the second time I’ve had a call from this number in under a day.

I got a call from someone saying they were from my internet provider and that my connection would be cut off in an hour because my line was “insecure”. They said I had to click a link online so they could fix it. But the lady couldn’t give me any account info or even my own name. I let her have it with some choice words about scammers like her!

some bloke with an asian accent said he was from bt trying to sort out my internet issues, so i humoured him for a bit, like 5 mins or so. then i asked him why bt would be calling about my phone line when it's actually a uk skype landline and i live in bulgaria. he went quiet and couldn't explain properly so i just hung up on him. no doubt it’s a scammer trying it on.

some guy with terrible english rang saying he was from bt and claimed there was an issue with our internet hub that needed a rescue scan or something like that. i asked when it had been flagged and he said last week. as it happens, my son works at bt so i told the bloke he might wanna check with him first, even gave him my son’s number but naturally he wasn’t interested in calling.

Got a call from some overseas call centre the other day. I just played along for a bit, then told the bloke to jog on (not in so many words though). He was trying to convince me to download TeamViewer so some “senior tech” could access my computer. Nope, not falling for that one!

I asked him for some kind of code or activation number to be sure. Instead, he gave me my own postcode, which made me suspicious. I told him I’d ring back but needed the actual security number first. He then said “1097”. When I pressed him for the secret question’s answer, he just cut me off straight away. Definitely sounded like a scam.
