Somebody rang me saying they were from a utility firm in the UK. I asked where exactly in the UK they were from and then questioned stuff like what’s the weather like over there and which street the office’s on. When he finally admitted he was calling from India, I was like, honestly, why would I trust a company that kicks off with a blatant lie? Totally not impressed.

Utility Adviser called again - it’s the same outfit that rang me last week (I left a review about it as well). They used the exact same spiel, were really pushy and it got quite irritating.

Got a call from a bloke speaking with an Indian accent, saying his name was Kevin. He claimed to be from British Gas and mentioned our contract was about to renew (not until next February though!). He wanted to talk about the current prices and asked how much we’d been using. I told him he should already know that info if he really had our account. Then he asked me to grab my bill so we could go over it together. Honestly, I wish these callers would just be upfront about who they really are. If they’re not straight with me, I’m not dealing with them, plain and simple!

Had another annoying ring from some utility advisor today. The person on the other end had such a strong accent it was almost impossible to get what they were saying, plus there was loads of noise in the background. I told them we already have a broker handling things for us, but they just kept going on and on. In the end, I just put the phone down.

I got a call from someone named RAJ who said he was with Utilitywise (which apparently went into administration on 19/02/19). He then switched it up and said he was a utility advisor or something. Had a strong Indian accent, so I reckon it was a call centre overseas. He insisted I find a utility bill so he could talk me through the rates - like I've got time to waste on that!

Like some folks here, I got a real pushy call from a company pretending to be our local business utility. Heads up, these are dodgy calls. Just be firm and tell them to jog on. Never give out any info they want. Total scam, stay sharp!

They called me a few times but always ended the call pretty quickly, like under 5 minutes. Later, they phoned back saying it was about my company’s utility bill, claiming there was a problem with the direct debit. But when I asked for details, they just dropped the call. Really suspicious!

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were ringing from London using an internet phone. They said they were calling for British Gas, but the country code on my phone showed it came from Egypt. Pretty sure the caller ID wasn’t faked or anything.
