Some bloke called and I could barely catch a word he said, but got the gist he was talking about a virus on my PC. That set alarm bells ringing straight away, so I told him to jog on and ended the call. This sort of thing really shouldn't be allowed. Watch out if you see the number 00203315478 pop up.

Some bloke called claiming he was from Windows, sounded a bit dodgy and hard to catch what he was saying. He wanted to know if I was the main user on the computer and so on. I told him I wasn’t daft and called him out as a scammer, then just hung up on him.

They've called me six times over the past three days. Twice I told them to stop calling and to remove me from their database, but they just ended the call. One time, the person claimed they didn’t have a computer! Eventually, I kept one of them talking for about 10 minutes, pretending to be an elderly woman who had just received a new laptop. He went on trying to guide me through setting it up, only for me to say I had no power at all. Took up their time for once - definitely feels like a total con.

On 22nd February 2016, I got a call from the number 00203315478. The lady said she was calling from Windows and claimed there was an issue with our computer. She asked if I was the owner. I told her I wasn’t and said the owner would ring back once they were home. She then provided a 'freephone' number in Reading - 08081432509.

On the 26th Feb 2016, got a call here in the UK from the number 00203315478. The lady said she was from Windows and claimed there was an issue with our PC, asking if I was the owner. I told her I wasn’t, and that the owner would ring once they were back. She also gave me a 'toll free' number, which seemed dodgy for the UK - something like 08081432509, said it was in Reading. Didn’t bother calling it. Definitely felt like a scam.

This number has called me a couple of times, always wanting to talk to whoever uses the computer. When I said I wasn’t keen, the person on the other end mentioned something about me being liable for something, but they quickly hung up before explaining anything. I've also warned a few mates about this number just in case.

Got a call from someone claiming my Windows PC was messed up. Totally dodgy! Don’t hand over any details to these types. They’re counting on you having some tech knowledge which makes you worry. How on earth can they know if there’s really a problem? Be smart, folks. Never let strangers get into your computer or ask for your card info.
