Some bloke called and I could barely catch a word he said, but got the gist he was talking about a virus on my PC. That set alarm bells ringing straight away, so I told him to jog on and ended the call. This sort of thing really shouldn't be allowed. Watch out if you see the number 00203315478 pop up.

Some bloke called claiming he was from Windows, sounded a bit dodgy and hard to catch what he was saying. He wanted to know if I was the main user on the computer and so on. I told him I wasn’t daft and called him out as a scammer, then just hung up on him.

They've called me six times over the past three days. Twice I told them to stop calling and to remove me from their database, but they just ended the call. One time, the person claimed they didn’t have a computer! Eventually, I kept one of them talking for about 10 minutes, pretending to be an elderly woman who had just received a new laptop. He went on trying to guide me through setting it up, only for me to say I had no power at all. Took up their time for once - definitely feels like a total con.

On the 22nd of February, 2016, I received a call from a lass on 00203315478, claiming to be from Windows, stating there was an issue with our computer. She inquired if I was the owner, to which I replied in the negative, mentioning that the actual owner would reach out upon their return. Before hanging up, she provided me with what she called a 'toll free' number supposedly based in Reading: 08081432509. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

On the 26th of February, 2016, I received a call from a number starting with 00203315478, claiming to be from Windows, stating there was an issue with my computer. The caller even asked if I was the owner of the device. I informed her that I wasn’t, but that the actual owner would be in touch upon their return. She then provided what she described as a 'toll-free' number in Reading, 08081432509. To be honest, it didn't sound quite right for a UK number, so I haven't bothered to ring it. Seems like a classic scam to me!

This number has called me a couple of times, always wanting to talk to whoever uses the computer. When I said I wasn’t keen, the person on the other end mentioned something about me being liable for something, but they quickly hung up before explaining anything. I've also warned a few mates about this number just in case.

How on earth can they know if there’s really a problem? Be smart, folks. Never let strangers get into your computer or ask for your card info.
