Today, got a ring but the caller seemed put off when I started quizzing them with my BT8500 call blocker, so they just hung up without dropping a message. Since I set this up a year back, I've not had a single scam or dodgy call. I reckon this person dug up some outdated list with my number on it that’s been ignored by most. Some genuine people ringing for the first time have moaned about having to give their name, but I still let it go to voicemail. No wonder though, cos usually I’m not around to pick up anyhow.

Got a call from a man who barely spoke English, asking if I’d been in a crash. I asked him for the name of his company and told him my number was registered on the TPS. He got really rude after that and, no surprise, just hung up on me!

I received a rather dodgy call today from this number, which was par for the course, involving some nonsense about a supposed car accident linked to my number over the past three years. When I pressed for specifics, the chap on the other end-typical Asian male scammer-decided to abruptly end the conversation. It's infuriating! Given their rude disposition, one has to wonder if they're fishing for you to ring back a pricey Egyptian number. Or perhaps they're just keen on nabbing your personal info, like your name and banking details, for a scam they have lined up for later?

Got another call from him today. Told the guy straight off to take me off his calling list. He acted like he couldn’t get a word I said. So I asked if it was 'cause of my accident, and he admitted it was. Then I said, oh so you DO understand English after all, and hung up.

I've never been to Egypt nor know anyone there, so I reckon it's a scam call. When it rang I wasn't in, and they didn't leave a voicemail. I've also had a couple of calls from a person speaking with a strange foreign accent, but I couldn't catch what they said, and they just hung up as soon as I told them that. Another time, someone called saying my computer had issues, I just told them it wasn't even switched on, so obviously it's not working!

Today, 12th August 2016 around 4.28pm, I got a call from this number. An Asian woman spoke but I couldn’t catch who she was asking for. The moment I responded, she just ended the call straight away. My number’s ex-directory and I’ve also signed up to block these sorts of calls. Thought the Government was meant to be cracking down on these nuisance calls, but I guess that’s just rubbish.

Couldn’t catch the name or where he was calling from, sounded like some foreign place. The guy started by checking how I was, then when I asked what the call was about and if he wanted to make an order, he just hung up on me. This number has rung me 6 times within the space of an hour. The callers, with Asian accents, kept telling me that someone using my phone number got into an accident recently. I told them right away on the first call that I hadn’t been involved in any accident and that they were waking me up. They went on to call 5 more times before I finally had to unplug the phone. Guess the BT Preference Service isn’t really working then.

Likely a con artist, they kicked off the conversation with a polite 'how are you' and then promptly terminated the call when I inquired about the company's physical address. I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so these individuals are clearly operating outside the law.
