I wasn’t at home when this number rang me, so I tried calling it back just now. But all I got was a message saying the number’s been disconnected, and it didn’t give me any alternative number to call.

Got a call this morning around 9.45 from a bloke who said his name was Jim and had an Indian accent. He claimed to be from some Windows Computer Service Centre and wanted to talk about an issue with my PC. When I asked where he was calling from, he said New Jersey. But when I asked for a contact number, he just hung up on me - although I managed to get the number later from 1471. It all felt like a total scam, especially as he sounded like he was just reading off a script.

Got a call from someone claiming to be 'Windows Computers' and they mentioned a Welsh address, which didn’t sound right. When I asked for a callback number, they gave me the Energy Helpline’s phone instead! I ended the call and then looked them up here on your site.

Got a call from a bloke claiming my computer was showing errors and there was an issue. He offered to help me fix it if I switched my PC on, then just dropped the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be working for Windows, said my computer had loads of viruses and was in danger. He asked me to turn my laptop on and said he'd guide me through fixing it.

Got a call from a guy who sounded indian, claiming there was a problem with my Windows PC. I told him I use Apple instead, and he suddenly switched to saying he was an Apple specialist. I kept asking loads of questions, pretending I didn’t get it, and he started getting annoyed before just hanging up on me.

I got a call today and wanted to report it to TPS but they said they don’t handle scam calls. They told me I had to contact either the police or citizens advice bureau instead!

Got a call from 0019858786332 and could barely catch what the bloke was saying. Then he started yelling even louder, so I told him I’m hard of hearing and didn’t get a word. Next thing, he just tells me to “f##k off”! I’m 84 and live on my own, pretty shocking behaviour.

Got a call from this guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from "Windows support". He said there was an issue with my Windows PC. I told him I don’t even own a Windows computer, and then he just ended the call. Pretty blatant and dumb scam if you ask me.

Got a call from some bloke with a Pakistani accent who said his name was Edward. He claimed he was ringing from some "Windows support centre" near Kings Cross in London. When I asked for a postcode, he came out with KI80397, which isn’t even a real UK postcode. Total muppets. Best to just hang up and steer clear!

This number has rung me a few times, but since I don't know who it is, I don't jump in straight away. When I do pick up, there's just a recorded 'Goodbye' and then it hangs up. It's not really bothering me, just a bit annoying.

Beware of scammers pretending to be from Windows who try to get into your computer. It’s really risky, especially if folks fall for their tricks. Stay safe!

got a call earlier from someone claiming there was an issue with my windows. he said he knew my name and even my windows licence number or something like that. i told him i wasn’t interested in any help but he kept pushing, insisting there really was a problem. i told him to buzz off, and he threatened to phone me again in a few hours. luckily my son, who works in IT, is home so he probably won’t dare call back. definitely looks like a scam to me.

I got a call today, 7th August 2015, about 1:34pm from someone saying he was 'James' from some maintenance firm, claiming there was an issue with my computer. Honestly, sounded like a right scam or maybe a really rubbish maintenance crew... most likely a dodgy scammer if you ask me. I just told him to keep quiet and slammed the phone down!

I just received a call from this number. We had a couple of brief chats, but it seemed like they were just sitting in silence on the other end, despite it being clear that someone was there. They ended up hanging up after around fifteen seconds, which was rather odd.

Got a missed call with no sound at all. I decided to let our answering machine handle it. They didn’t leave a message, so I’ve now blocked the number.
