7 yearsGot two calls pretty much back to back today, sounded suspicous right away. Had a couple of calls like this a few months ago too, so I called my bank to make sure. Yep, it’s definitely a scam. Proper frustrating!7 yearsI got a call with a robotic-sounding woman speaking English with a posh accent, claiming she was from Visa. She said someone had just tried to take £600 from my account and if I hadn’t approved it, I should press a button to talk to someone straight away. They never used my name or asked any security questions at all. The voice was really quick and sort of pushy, trying to get me to act fast. Obviously, I just ended the call. It felt like they were ordering me around, like it was urgent and that if I hesitated, I’d lose money. Definitely sketchy behaviour.Visa7 yearsGot a call from a woman saying there was a £600 payment on my visa, wanted me to press one to chat with someone about it. Just hung up straight away.7 yearsIt was pretty strange, they told me to press 1 to talk to an advisor. Then the person asked if I had any tablet, laptop, phone or internet access. I said no to everything and they just ended the call, saying my bank would get in touch. Of course, I never got any call from the bank.7 yearsGot a call today from a different number but the same weird recorded message as before. This is the second time it's happened. I've also set it up to go straight to "call protect" now to block it.7 yearsi keep getting calls from this number and every time i pick up, the call drops straight away. sounds like a total scam to me.7 yearsAt precisely 16:58 (just so it’s noted!), I had a phone call from the number mentioned above. The caller, sporting a pronounced Indian accent, claimed to represent BT, warning me that my internet security was compromised. I was then transferred to a so-called 'senior engineer' who insisted I needed to launch a web browser and access RT Remote Support. Apparently, there was an urgent need to thwart an alleged fraud attempt involving a hefty £600 transfer by an online individual named Peter from Manchester. Notably, there was no effort made to verify their identity, which immediately raised my suspicions. When I pressed them for identification, the senior engineer, who also had a thick Indian accent, became rather aggressive and abruptly hung up the phone. I'm convinced this is a scam, and I reckon others ought to be vigilant.BTRT Remote SupportPeterManchester7 yearsMy wife accidentally hit 'one' on a call and then the line just suddenly cut off. Definitely felt like some kind of scam to me.7 yearsOver the past couple of days, I got three calls from different numbers, all with the same recorded message claiming a £600 transaction was made abroad on my Visa card. The voicemail urged me to press 1 to talk to someone if I hadn’t approved the charge. I just ended the call straight away. I’ve also contacted the police to see if they can help stop these annoying calls.Visa7 yearsA chap claiming to represent Visa Secure rang me, insisting there had been a payment of ??? debited from my account. They urged me to press 1 if I hadn’t authorised the transaction. Seemed a bit dodgy, so I decided to cut the call.Visa SecureSubmit Your Own Report (934744517)
