They keep ringing me non-stop, but whenever I pick up, the line just cuts out or I catch some foreign call centre noise before it dies. Honestly, if they ring one more time, I’m gonna be quite harsh with them.

Totally dull scam call, no effort or imagination at all.

Got a call from someone named Max, sounded like he was from India. He claimed they'd been checking my internet and found hackers had got into my passwords and stuff. Said he could sort it out for me. Asked how many lights were flashing on my router, I told him none, just a blue one. Then he wanted me to turn on my computer, I pretended to agree. But I don’t even have a laptop, just an iPad and a phone. When I said that, he started shouting at me for having my computer on, so I just ended the call. Pretty scary for folks who don’t realise this is just a scam.

I've been inundated with calls from this particular number. An individual with an Indian accent, purporting to be from BT, insists that there's an attempt to breach our computer's security. The most recent call came in just this morning. As soon as I saw the number come up, I chose to ignore it and let it ring through to voicemail. Unsurprisingly, he didn't bother to leave any sort of message.

I keep getting calls from scammers claiming to be from BT. Every time I block one number, they just ring again from a slightly different one. Why do they keep ringing people who clearly tell them to get lost? Do they honestly expect that eventually we'll fall for their tricks and think they’re really from BT, Microsoft or something else?

They ring me twice each morning, like 7:40 and then 8:45, always on about my computer or BT. I'm proper fed up now, I just snap at them to sod off and hang up.

I’ve been receiving incessant calls each day, two times this morning alone at 7:40 and 8:45 regarding my computer or BT. Honestly, it’s driving me mad! I’ve reached the point where I simply tell them to bugger off and hang up.

Total scam alert. Got a call from a US number claiming to be BT. Since when is BT based in America? They must think we’re daft. My BT phone blocked it straight away, but then the caller tried again, this time it just showed as International on my screen. Four annoying calls in two days. Absolute muppets.

I constantly get plagued by these muppets. They ring my landline, and when I pick up, it’s dead air. Honestly, it’s like dealing with someone who couldn’t juggle a bag of crisps! Complete nincompoops. Just a friendly warning-when I tried calling back the number 001883709532, it rejected me outright, stating the number was not recognised. Then there's this chap with a thick accent, could be Indian or Pakistani, asking for my name. I told him he ought to know who he’s dialling. His response? He claims he knows my name starts with an ‘x’ and ends with an ‘x.’ They must reckon I’m as thick as two short planks!

This number has rung me a few times over the last fortnight. Twice just this morning and nothing but silence. I asked who actually sent them to call us, but they wouldn’t answer and just tried to carry on with their spiel. I told them to stop calling and ended the call.

I received a rather peculiar call from an individual claiming to be with BT, who alleged that my internet had been compromised by a hacker. Curious, I inquired about how long we had been BT customers, to which he responded that he was relatively new and offered to transfer me to his manager. Upon the manager's arrival, he insisted that I check my computer to identify the culprit behind the hacking. I had to inform him that I didn't have a computer handy, which seemed to ruffle his feathers. In a rather unpleasant tone, he warned me that he would be disconnecting my internet for a fortnight. I simply replied that it wasn't an issue for me, and that’s when he abruptly dropped the line.

Just got a ring from this number, and honestly it was so funny. I decided to mess around and waste their time for a bit. Since I'm pretty savvy with computers, I didn’t even bother typing what they asked for - I already knew the answers. After a while, I told the bloke he shouldn’t be trying to trick folks like that. She had an Indian accent and claimed that I was sharing my internet connection with others. She requested me to switch on my laptop so she could demonstrate the so-called issue. Got a call from someone saying he was David Jones at BT - but I’m not so sure! His Indian accent was really thick and he said my router or PC was hacked. When I said that didn’t sound right and asked for a phone number (even though I already had it on my screen), he just cut me off. After reading the other comments here, I reported it to trading standards since I guess TPS won’t deal with this kind of call. I did try TPS first, just to see if they’d help, but no luck.

Received a rather peculiar phone call today from this number. An Indian woman on the other end claimed to be from my internet service provider, insisting that my router had been compromised and required a reboot. I told him I knew he was lying and warned if he didn’t take my number off their list and stop calling, I’d report him to the police. He got really rude and swore at me. Tried to report it to the TPS - they said it’s not their problem and showed zero interest. Same story with Action Fraud, they said it’s not within their scope either! Honestly, it’s a complete waste of time. Feels like we’re just left to deal with it ourselves!

This number has been incessantly calling me-about once or twice daily over the past week. Each time, they hang up as soon as I pick up, which is incredibly frustrating. I've noticed numerous others mentioning that it’s a bogus BT call.

Got two calls today from the same number. The first one said they were from BT and my router had been hacked, but I just hung up right away. Then about an hour later, I got another call from them, but as soon as I picked up, they dropped the call and didn’t say anything.

I've been getting calls from this number on a daily basis for the past week, ringing about once or twice each day. The moment I pick up, they just disconnect! It’s become rather frustrating, to be honest.

What annoys me about these calls and others like them is why do phone companies let these SCAMMERS get hold of people’s personal numbers to scam them? No matter how many complaints are made, nothing happens unless you cough up extra fees each month. This just lets them bother a new victim. People who’ve been caught should have their phones cut off, plain and simple, but that wouldn’t make phone companies any extra cash.

I'm bombarded with incessant calls each morning, all supposedly coming from BT's tech support. Despite my consistent attempts to inform them that I'm well aware they're trying to pull a fast one, and begging them to cease their calls, they just won't take the hint. Today, the chap on the other end even resorted to calling me a 'motherf*^~er' when I pointed out their ruse. It's utterly infuriating!

This number persistently rings my phone around 9 to 10 in the morning. Whenever I mention that I'm not a BT customer, they promptly disconnect.

I've got a BT phone with call blocking and keep gettin calls from this number and others like it. It says "international" on my screen but it's not saved in my contacts, so I looked it up and found loads of comments here. I never answer and they never leave a voicemail. Really glad I found this site, cheers to everyone who’s helped!

Got calls from this number the last two days. Same stuff as other people said already. They even tried telling me to get on my PC, download TeamViewer and let them control it! Seriously, don’t fall for it! They’re just trying a scam!

I received a call recently, and when I mentioned that my internet connection was perfectly fine, the person on the other end resorted to calling me an ‘absolute numpty’ before abruptly ending the conversation. Quite unbelievable, really!

They keep ringing my old mum loads of times daily, and it's really upsetting her. At first, I figured it was just sales calls, but now I'm sure it's a scam. I heard about this on Radio 4 Money Box recently - if you get caught out, they can clean out your savings.

This guy called saying he was from BT. I told him my partner works there, but he didn't give up. I flipped it around and asked him loads of questions instead. He claimed he was at the London BT office, said my internet had been used for dodgy downloads, told me his department and that his name was Steve Rogers! When I kept at him, he got annoyed and said he wouldn’t listen anymore, threatened to cut off my internet and said my husband would have to sort it out. Well, you can guess - still got my internet running fine!

Got calls from this number yesterday and again earlier today. The caller said she was from BT and that our router had been compromised. She spoke with an Indian accent and then passed me on to a 'senior' guy, also with an Indian accent. There was a lot of noise in the background. When I questioned why the website they wanted me to visit didn’t include 'BT' in the address, they just hung up.

I've received four calls from this number. They claim to be from the BT technical support team, talking about issues with my internet security. I'm certain it's a scam; I reached out to BT and they confirmed they hadn't made any calls to me.

Got around six calls from this number since early January. Haven't picked up any, but after reading the comments, I really hope they quit ringing me.

Got 5 calls from this number in the last day and a half. First call was from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT, saying my internet had been hacked without me knowing. Told her she was a scammer and ended the call. Then got two missed calls from the same number, picked up the next two - the first was a bloke, again with an Indian accent, claiming to be from BT about my internet issues. Told him he was just trying to scam me and hung up again. Last call was from another lady sounding Indian. By then I was quite annoyed, so dropped a mild swear and ended the call.

Got two missed calls from this number today, 04/01/17, one at 09:42 and another at 11:42. Looked it up online and seems like another one of those dodgy scams kicking off again.

I got a rather intense phone call instructing me to rush and switch on my computer because there was a supposed fault, claiming that someone had been tampering with it in the dead of night between twelve and four. They insisted they were from BT. When I mentioned I needed to consult my husband first, they became quite irate and threatened to disconnect my internet. I simply replied, "Fine," and they abruptly hung up. After discussing it with my husband, it turned out we're with Sky, not BT at all! What a load of nonsense!

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT saying my internet had issues. I played along because I knew it wasn’t the real BT, but then he got really rude and threatened to cut my internet off. Luckily, my connection is just fine! I can imagine this kind of call would scare older folks a lot.

They've rang me about 6 times today alone and loads over the week. Saying they’re from Ofcom, BT, and Virgin Media. Got really rude when I questioned them. They were going on about my router being hacked, computer having a virus, and problems with my broadband speed.
