A lady with quite a strong accent called me, sounded really foreign. I kept having to ask her to say what she was from because I swear I caught "peoples open pole" or something like that. After a few repeats, I reckon she meant "people's opinion poll" or whatever. Oddly, she even asked for me by name. Strange call!

My mum, who’s elderly and not very well, has been getting these quiet calls every afternoon this week around 3.30 to 4.30. It’s really frustrating since her number’s on the TPS list. I don’t get how they’re still able to get through when I thought the TPS was meant to block this stuff.

I asked her where their company was based, and as soon as I did, she just ended the call. Felt quite dodgy to me, especially since my number’s on the TPS list. Today, I got a ring from an Asian bloke claiming I had a right to a PPI refund on a loan from back in 2004 that I supposedly cleared by 2009. I played along for a bit, telling him all he had to do was send a cheque - no bank details needed. But he kept pushing and said he’d ring again tomorrow. Eventually, I told him I’ve never taken out a loan, let alone paid PPI, so there’s no chance I’m due anything. After that, he just hung up on me. This is pretty worrying because I can see how many folks might fall for this kind of thing.
