Got a call at 20:46 from an overseas number, seen on our caller ID. We just ignored it, didn’t pick up. If the scammer happens to be looking at this, all I can say is, borrowing a phrase from the Royal Navy, “go forth and multiply.”

At about 8:45 in the evening I got a call from 001*622340991 about Centrica shares. Never come across this kind of scam before, so I figured I'd put it out there. Ms

Someone rang me claiming they were representing a client interested in purchasing my shares in a company I actually own shares in. When I questioned where they’d got my details, she said it came from the client’s legal team. That set off warning bells straight away, so I just hung up.

Got a call about some Aviva shares, but the whole thing seemed really dodgy to me.

Like others have mentioned, it's definitely a scam. They were trying to get me interested in some kind of Scottish Power shares or something. Stay clear of it, it's all dodgy.

Somebody phoned asking for my missus about her M&S stocks, said there was a takeover offer or sumthin'. I wasn’t havin’ any of it, doubt its legit.

Called me saying it was about my shareholding in Lloyds and Halifax Banking. I have never invested in either bank. I told them, and they hung up.

Got a call from someone in the States saying they had a buyer lined up for some shares I supposedly had. Was really pushy and didn't want to take no for an answer. Classic boiler room scam, I reckon.

Got a call today on my home phone from 0018622340991, a lady with an Asian accent saying I own shares in Lloyds bank, which is true. She actually knew my name. I interrupted and said I couldn’t follow what she was saying, asked her to send me something in writing, then I just ended the call. It’s quite unsettling. How on earth did she manage to get hold of my details like my name and number?

Got a call from this number today. Some bloke with an accent said something about my Lloyds Bank shares being needed for a takeover by another firm. It sounded dodgy, so I looked up the number here and found out it’s a scam. I’ve blocked it straight away.

A woman with an accent called me saying something about shares I supposedly have, but I don’t actually own any anymore. It’s weird how she knew my name and info like that. I hung up, but then the phone rang straight back again from the same number. I’ve blocked it now.

I got a call at my place, but it went straight to voicemail. It just sounded like random background chatter, probably from one of those call centres. They've rung a few times already, but I hadn’t bothered blocking the number - not anymore though!

Got a call from a woman in the US who started chatting about Lloyds Bank shares and some kind of takeover deal. When I asked if she could send the details in writing, she just hung up on me. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

So this lady called me, said her name was Catherine Davies or something, and she was telling me about selling my mum’s M&S shares. Said there was a client ready to pay £7 a share and would send a cheque right away. I said I wasn’t interested at all, and before I could say more, she just hung up on me. Quite rude, really.

These idiots keep trying that old British Airways shares scam. Proper annoying and such a typical trick from those scammy folks.

Got a call earlier from someone saying they're Miranda Davies at some investment firm. They kept telling me they were going to take over SSE and wanted me to offload my mum’s shares with them. Sounded dodgy to me.

I asked the woman with an Asian accent who she was and which company she was calling from, and she just hung up straight away. Total scammer!

Has anyone else got calls from people saying something about owning shares in Heathrow Airport Holdings? Sounds dodgy to me, like one of those scam calls trying to trick you into giving info or cash. Just wondered if anyone's experienced this kind of thing too?

Got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, called herself Ms Lim, said she was from New York and was interested in buying BT shares, quoting a pretty high price. She didn’t sound like she was really from New York though, so I had a hard time understanding her. I told her to send me the info by email. Now I've got some non-disclosure paper from something called Bridgepoint Management Group LLC, but the name isn’t exactly the same as the Bridgepoint company in New York that I know of. She’s rung a few more times since then while I’ve been trying to figure out what’s what.

Sounds like one of them dodgy investment schemes to me.

I wish I could catch those clueless scammers myself.

Someone called saying they worked for a company trying to buy out BT and wanted to purchase my shares. I got a bad feeling because they seemed to know I’d sold some shares ages ago, but kept harping on about other BT shares I supposedly had. They had bits of info but clearly not everything. When they mentioned the price they were offering, I figured it was a scam - no one offers ten times the market value, they must think we’re daft!

They really ought to rename this firm Fiberdrolba, given the daft stuff they’re up to.

Totally a scammer, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with Aviva, and they actually had my full name.

My dad got a call today from +18622340991 about some Aviva shares he supposedly owns. The woman said she was calling from New York, but honestly, it sounded like she was on a call centre line. She asked for his email to send over some info, which seemed fishy to me. Pretty sure it’s just another scam.

Got a call from a lady with a very American accent asking to talk to my husband about some Aviva shares. She actually knew his full name, which was a bit creepy. I asked which company she was representing and suddenly she got really abrupt, telling me I asked a question first and to hand the phone to my husband. I just ended the call since my husband passed away eight years ago. Definitely a scam and pretty rude to boot.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a New York acquisitions firm. They wanted to chat about buying my father's Lloyds shares, which is odd since dad passed away years ago. The price they were pushing was crazy high, like £15 each. The guy spoke English with a kind of SE Asian accent but sounded like he was trying to do a North American accent. Pretty sure it was a scam or they were working off really outdated info.

Tonight I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, claiming it was about my late husband’s shares in Northern Foods. We actually sold those shares over 25 years ago. Seemed like a total scam to me.

Got a call the other day from someone wanting to speak to my son. I had to explain he doesn't live here anymore. She then insisted on his phone number and started on about shares, saying if I knew about them I'd definitely have his address like others do. Bit weird really, probably digging through ancient records since he's been gone for like 20 years. The calls are definitely from the States.

Later, she emailed me a non-disclosure agreement that mentioned a company named Greyt & Lewis located at 8 Albany St, New York, NY 10006, USA. After reading the other reviews about this number and similar firms on here, I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

Got a call from this number tonight, seemed a bit dodgy. They claimed to be reps for some investment company looking to buy over half of BT shares. Strange thing is, they already had my name and address. They mentioned paying anywhere from £8 to £17 per share which sounded fishy to me. I told them to send all details by post, but honestly, I’m just going to bin any letters if they come. Feels like a total scam to me.

Today I got a call from this number, they wanted me to fill out a form they claimed to have sent last week, which I honestly thought never arrived. They were coming back to a previous call from a US number about some shares belonging to my late husband that were supposedly now mine. I had no idea about these shares since all my late husband's finances were handled by his lawyer and accountant, and I told the woman that. They obviously had my phone number, address, and my late husband’s name. Luckily, they only got my landline, which I’ve now managed to block.

Called a vulnerable person trying to sell British Gas shares at some ridiculously high price. When I asked for details, they got dodgy, wouldn’t say their name, and just ended the call.

Got a call out the blue from this number about some stocks stuff tied to an overseas firm linked to someone who’s not around here. Oddly, the caller explained things clearly, which you don’t often get with dodgy calls, so I told them to try again later since the person they wanted wasn’t available. Totally fibbed there since I never entertain random cold calls. What caught me off guard was they actually rang back at the exact time I mentioned, even though my phone was on silent. I really enjoy messing with these lot and chewing up their time because it all seems pretty dodgy to me.

She said a party she knows is looking to launch a hostile takeover but needs to buy up more stock, promising to pay well above market price for the shares. It felt a lot like other dodgy calls I've had, so I reckon it's just a scam trying to get me to part with my shares and likely disappear without paying a penny.

Had a run-in with a woman who was really nasty to me.

With all the feedback I’ve seen about this number on here, I’m surprised no action has been taken against them yet.

I didn't share any details or my email, just asked her to send something in writing, which I'd show my solicitor. She agreed and then ended the call. Definitely a scam, don’t give them anything.

Got a call from a number that looks US based, but the actual caller must be way out west of America. Funny how these scams usually come from far east of here, not close! As usual, these fraud calls need to be reported, just like the police advise on the Action Fraud site for phishing. When you get a dodgy call, forward the details by texting 7726. If it’s a scam text, also send it to 7726. And for scam emails, they go to '[email protected]'. Reporting all this nonsense is the best way to help crack down on these scams.

They kept pushing me to say who I was, then suddenly mentioned something about shares I've never had. The woman sounded quite anxious and ended up just cutting the call.

Got a call from someone wanting to buy NG shares, saying they wanted to boost the amount I held. They offered between £15 and £25 a share. Knew my full name and where I lived too! Then asked for my email so they could send over some form. Definitely a scam!

Got a call about some supposed BT takeover investment. Sounded dodgy, like a scam to me. Definitely felt off and didn’t trust it at all.

Then she rang me right back almost straight away. The funny thing is, I don’t own any shares at all. After checking on ‘Who called my number’, I quickly realised it was just a scam.

Got a call from this number today, asking about someone who apparently lived here more than 30 years back and has been dead way before I even knew his wife. She’s been living here all along, and it took me ages to stop all those letters from some sort of investment firm. Now they’re asking if I’m family? Seriously, how did they even get my number? Doesn’t make any sense.

Absolutely a total scam, I’d advise anyone not to answer this number. Since I work in insurance, I could tell pretty quick that it was dodgy. Fingers crossed no one falls for this trick down the line.
