My mam, she’s retired, and just got a random call today 11/5/17, saying something about her computer being dodgy - which she doesn’t even own. These scammers must be getting their info somewhere, cos she’s only had the landline for like a month and they already had her number! It’s just mad how this keeps happening. Honestly, the government should stop faffing about with Brexit and deal with stuff like this instead. It’s totally out of control, and they’re just sitting on their arses. I’m lucky tho, my mam’s clever and sharp at 69, so she knows how to handle these con artists.

I got a call from this number saying my computer had a virus. When I told the guy, who had an Asian accent, that I work in IT, he just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a woman speaking English with an Asian accent trying to pull some computer scam. They really have no shame or concern about bothering people. Total rip-off!!!

Got a call from 0018573689820, sounded like a North American guy claiming my computer was hacked by some Canadian cyber crooks. I told him I use Kaspersky, not McAfee like he kept insisting, but he just wouldn't accept it. Then I said I actually run Macs, not a PC, and he switched to some other nonsense argument. I just ended the call there. No word from them since.

My dad got a call from someone saying his computer was infected with a virus, but the whole thing felt dodgy. He told them he doesn’t really use a computer much, but they kept pushing him, asking him to turn it on and sit in front of it. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.
