I got this automated call claiming to be from Amazon, saying they were taking a payment from my account. I rang up Amazon's customer service afterwards and they told me it wasn’t them and there isn’t any payment due. I reckon they’ll just try from another number next time, so blocking this one might not make much difference.

Lately, there’s been a noticeable rise in calls pretending to be from Amazon. They claim your Amazon Prime needs renewing or warn you your account is about to be closed. Then they try to get your credit card details for some kind of fake startup fee - that’s when they trick you. Amazon is not involved in any of this at all. Never give out personal info, bank details, or any kind of account info if you get unexpected calls, texts, or emails. Also, avoid clicking links or downloading attachments from unknown messages. These scammers are just using Amazon’s name to fool people!

This number's called me three times now with automated messages claiming they’ll charge me £39.99 for Amazon Prime. I’m not signed up for Amazon Prime at all. Just a heads up to watch out for this!
