Got a call from someone claiming to be about BT shares, and they even asked for me by name. I told them they had the wrong number and just hung up straight away. Definitely a scam, so watch out!

Someone called Samantha Lopez rang me, saying she was from 'Sherman Associates' - supposedly some kind of acquisition group that I've never heard of and probably doesn't even exist. She tried to use bits and pieces about my stock to persuade me they were about to complete a takeover of IAG, then asked for my email to move things along. Felt pretty dodgy, pushy and honestly like a scam.

Somebody called and asked for me by my name, then started firing questions at me. I blew my police whistle right into the phone and hung up sharpish. Not long after, the cheeky bugger called back straight away asking if I was the police! Hung up again, then they rang back just seconds later asking why I’d blown the whistle. That was the last straw - I lost it and gave them a proper telling off. My call blocker didn’t even stop the calls. Honestly, these nuisance calls are a right pain and should be treated as harassment.

What a load of rubbish! This caller said they had permission to ask about my shares or something private like that. I didn't hang about - just dropped the call straight away.

I got a call from 0017162216008, claiming they'd pay triple the current value for my Tesco shares. They asked for my email, which I gave them, but then nothing else happened ??

I’m certain this was a SCAM. They rang me up asking about some shares and bonds I supposedly owned, saying the firm was acting for a client trying to do a hostile takeover of Whitbread. They even sent me a non-disclosure agreement to sign via email - yeah, right! Luckily, I’m not easily fooled and have already reported them to the FCA. The company called themselves Hauer Capital Partners from New York, but they’re not registered or allowed to operate here in the UK.

Got a ring from this number a short while back, some Asian lady chatting about shares. I told her I ain't got none and hung up. Not long after, the same number rang again, so this time I yelled right back and told them to bugger off.

Just got a ring from this number a short while back, some Asian lady on the line chatting about shares. I quickly said I’ve no shares and hung up. Right after that, they rang again straight away. This time, I shouted back as loud as I could, telling them to stuff it and put the phone down.

Got a call from a lady speaking with a kinda British accent, asking for my missus. When I asked what it was regarding, she mentioned something about shares in xxxxx. I told her if it’s about shares, they better send something in writing. Then she just suddenly ended the call. Sounds like a scam to me.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent about some x shares. I said I reckoned it was a scam and ended the call. She rang straight back and then called me a c**t. Really rude and awkward experience.

Got a call from some American lady wanting to buy my shares in xxx company, but she was offering way over the top prices - classic boiler room trick if you ask me.

Around 2:40 in the afternoon, I got a ring from a lady looking for my missus, who wasn’t home then. She mentioned something about shares. She spoke with an Asian accent, which threw me off. When I asked where she was calling from, she said New York, but honestly, she didn’t sound American at all. I just told her that and ended the call. From what I’ve read from others, it looks like this might be some kind of scam, even if she really was in New York.

Got a call from a bloke with an American accent talking about a hostile takeover of a FTSE 100 firm, saying he wanted to buy our shares. He was really pushy but didn’t come across as rude. I just decided to hang up.

Got a call from some international number, all I could hear was a bunch of people talking like a call centre in the background. As soon as it reached my voicemail, they just dropped the call. Seemed completely pointless, likely a scam.

Got a call saying something about me owning shares in some company getting taken over and that they want to buy them off me. Total scam, of course. Even though I blocked the number, it somehow manages to ring through my call blocker. Watch out for these dodgy calls!
