Then I phoned SSE who told me not to share any details and to tell the caller to get in touch with them instead. The woman called again and I firmly refused to give my meter info, insisting she speak directly to the electricity company. She kept pushing but I wouldn’t budge and ended the call.

I told him to call back if he wanted the details, then I contacted Scottish Power myself and they confirmed it was a scam. He’s tried calling me about six times after that, but I just don’t pick up now.
