Got a call from 00166 claiming to be from Amazon Prime accounts. Seemed dodgy to me. Thought I'd better check it out. Anyone else had this number pop up?

I got a call from 0016622054894 claiming to be from BT, saying they wanted to help stop nuisance calls. My son had just told them the expiry date on my card, but nothing more. I was only half awake when I snatched the phone and ended the call. They tried phoning again after that. Now I’m stuck wondering if I should contact my bank or something. Not sure what to do next.

They called me again using the same number. Last time, the person said they were from Microsoft Windows, but today they said something about stopping nuisance calls. I asked if they could block this number, and suddenly they just hung up. Such a waste of time!

A few days back, I got a call that just showed ‘unavailable’ on the screen, happening at pretty much the same time in the evening. I ignored it and didn’t answer. Then, again around that same time, an international number popped up on my caller ID. The person on the other end said they could help me stop all those annoying calls and even mentioned my last name, which freaked me out a bit. I didn’t hang about - just ended the call straight away.

Some bloke rang, saying he was from the telephone preference service but got the wrong name and half the address wrong. He kept pushing for more details, and when I said we don't share info on the phone, he started swearing and getting nasty. He then asked why we were using that number in the first place, and when I told him he was the one who called us, he just hung up. Proper rude.

Got two calls today, the first from 07009623142, where the bloke claimed he was from the national do not call register and seemed to know a lot about me. When I asked where he got my details from, he just cut off the call. Then, about a couple of hours later, I had another ring from 0016622054804. This one showed up as 'unavailable' on my phone and no one said anything, so I just ended the call.

My landline rang the other day from this number. I answered but stayed quiet, and then a woman with a robotic voice just said “bye” and ended the call. Strange experience!

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent asking if I was who they were looking for. I told them I had gone no cold calls and then ended the call straight away.

For about a year now, I've been getting calls from this number or ones quite like it. Most times there's silence, but a couple of times I've heard someone with an Asian accent giving an English name, saying they're from Microsoft Windows and telling me I need to check my computer. Pretty clear it's another dodgy scam.

Today, Friday 20th October 2017, I got a call from this person. When I refused to sign up, they insulted me by calling me a who#e before abruptly ending the call. I’m definitely going to report this number now.

I picked up the call and there was silence at first. Then I moved the phone closer to the TV and suddenly a robotic woman said "goodbye."

Got a call from this number today around 1.12pm. I answered but there was silence, no sound at all. Then after about 6 seconds, a robot lady voice just said "goodbye" and hung up. What a pain!

Seeing 00166... on my caller ID, I was pretty sure it was a fake number, so I just ignored the call and let it go to voicemail. No message was left anyway. Clearly, these scammers feed off making you believe they're legit. Best to just not pick up - eventually, they'll tire of hearing only your voicemail.

Got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent saying she was from the telephone preference service. She kept insisting I should hand over my credit card details, supposedly just to confirm my ID. I ended up wasting her time chatting nonsense until she finally just hung up.

I got a call from this number, but there was dead silence when I picked up. I just told them to buzz off and hung up. It was quiet for a few days, but now I've had three scam calls in one day - they’re really pushing hard today!
