Honestly, BT should really get their act together and deal with these scammers. They obviously know which numbers (like 0016608835582) are being used for these calls, so why can't they just block them straight away? It's so frustrating!

Typical scam call (I’m in IT) - They want you to put a Trojan on your PC. I just acted clueless and pretended to do what they said. Ended up keeping them on the line for 22 minutes, and we had a right laugh about it back at work :)

This morning, someone called me claiming to be 'Alex Roberts' with an Asian accent, saying my computer was really messed up. I’m aware of these scams, so I said we have a few computers, so which one did he mean? He told me to log into any, so I said I had done that and asked what I could see. I replied I saw an apple, and he got a bit annoyed, saying no, on Windows! I said I could see actual trees through my windows instead. Before hanging up, he surprisingly said, "Ma'am, you’re a bastard!" in a very polite way!

They just rang me, I played along for a while but ended up losing my cool and called him some names I wouldn’t wanna write here. Told him to find proper work and stop nicking cash off folks. If they try again, just keep them chatting for ages. Drain their time and cash. I’m pretty sure they’re based in the US. If loads of people did this, it might get too expensive for them to keep at it.

Got a call from someone claiming my computer had issues, which is rubbish coz everything's fine on my end. They kept pushing like there was some problem, but it felt like a scam to me. Heads up guys! Best not to chat with these people, just say you're not interested and hang up quick.

Anyone who isn’t tech-savvy or who’s vulnerable could easily fall for this caller’s trick. We don’t even own a computer, yet they insisted it must be our laptop, which we don’t have - only tablets here! As soon as they saw they were getting nowhere, they hung up and moved on to someone else. If I get a chance, I’ll try to find out their real agenda! Best to just ignore this number altogether!

Somebody said they were from the 'Windows Tech Team' and that my computer was showing serious errors. I’m aware its a scam, so I usually try to waste their time and keep them busy, so they don’t bother others. When I asked how they supposedly saw the error messages, the bloke quickly got angry and started swearing at me. Out of the blue, he even admitted they were running a scam and laughed, saying the police wouldn’t catch them. Proper nasty people who really should be put to an end.

The caller claimed to be James Andrew from a Windows Tech Dept, saying there’s an issue with my PC. When I asked where he was calling from, he said his office was in Kings Cross, London. I told him to just email me the details of the problem instead. That seemed to throw him off a bit. Then I asked what operating system my computer runs on, which really seemed to confuse him. I then implied he didn’t know what he was doing, which clearly annoyed him. He ended up calling me ‘a bastard’ and hung up.

James Andrew has been calling me nonstop for the past three days, even left voicemails. Really pushy and rude, claiming there’s an issue with my computer’s firewall. He kept insisting the only way to fix it was for me to switch on my computer and he’d guide me through it. I asked him to send an email so I could sort it with BT properly, but he just kept saying "what’s the problem, woman!" I told him he was the actual problem. He argued about everything I said, even gave some long security number, supposedly his BT ID! I told him he’s a scammer and not to call me again!

I said I’d report him to the police for harassment. He then warned if I did, he’d keep calling. Within a minute and a half, he’d phoned my nan 17 times! He was quite pushy, telling me to switch on my computer, and when I kept questioning him, he got really annoyed. He even said stuff like “Oh my God woman, don’t you get that all computers run Windows?” The call ended with him calling me a 'bastard' and repeating “I will finger you day and night” loads of times before hanging up. I think these scammers are ringing from a couple of different numbers. One of them is 001059462210. Over the last week or so, I've had daily calls from both of these. They pretend to be from BT and try to trick folks into thinking their computer's got problems or is being hacked. But really, they're the ones trying to get into your system and steal your personal info. Honestly, they need to be taken to court. If your phone shows who’s calling, I'd recommend not picking up if either of these numbers pop up.
