I missed this call, the number seemed to be from Half Moon Bay, California. Looks like a lovely spot but I dont know anyone there or anywhere in the States. Blocked the number right away.

Some bloke rang saying he was from the national crime agency, claiming my great grandma's bank details were used for fraud and loans, and she had to cough up £15k straight away!!! Total muppets.

Sounds like a total scam to me, it showed up as California on my caller ID but I really don't think that's legit. I picked up and they just cut me off. I’d say don’t bother blocking or avoiding the number.

Turns out the caller had my full name and adress from the bank.

Some woman said she was doing a survey for the UK government and asked which bank I use. I wouldn't say. Then she started naming banks like Lloyds and Barclays, trying to get me to confirm. When I told her no and asked her to delete my info, she just ended the call. I guess that's why today I got a call from someone else saying they’re from a marketing firm asking how long I’ve banked with Barclays.

Got a call asking if anyone at my place was on pension credit or some government benefit - told the bloke to take my number off his list and just ended the call.

When I asked why he was ringing from California, he just said he’d lost connection and asked if I’d moved my pension. Asked again about the number and he did the same. Ended up hanging up and blocking it. Pretty sure it’s a scam.
