I have no idea who this number belongs to, but I've been getting calls nonstop from loads of different US numbers. I even had one supposedly from the "Chinese government." The US number rings about 9 times a week, and whenever I block it, another number from the same country rings me instead. So annoying.

Looks like it was Google all along. For weeks they've had my business hours wrong. I looked earlier today and saw someone suggested an edit with the right times. Then I got a call asking about when we open, so I checked this site to confirm the number. Now, Google has updated to show the correct hours. Honestly, this should be a positive for our business.

A woman with an Indian accent rang me claiming to be from Google Maps. She asked if my business was a shop open to the public and what the opening hours were. I told her to check my website and then hung up. I really don’t believe Google Maps would be calling people like that. To me, it sounds like a scam. If it was really from Google, they’d probably get in touch through your Google account, not just ring you randomly. Plus, they’d know my email and website already. My suggestion is just to hang up and not get drawn into any chat with them.

If that call really was from Google Maps verifiying something, they seriously need to improve their method. I’m not about to answer a call from Mountain View, California when I’ve never had any contacts there and I get bombarded with spam all day! Feels like some kind of scam to me. Whatever the case, I’m just gonna keep ignoring it. If it’s legit, then Google can just remove my listing, no worries.

These spam calls kept coming in, about 8 times today. The last one made me chuckle though. Some bloke from Google rang up asking to verify the company address. I gave him the one listed on the help page. He said he couldn't take incoming calls so didn't want to leave his number, and when I asked for his name, he just refused. They are NOT associated with GOOGLE at all. It's basically a scam from some Indian firm. If you have a business on Google, they’ll try to push paid Google Business Listings on you. But those listings are free from Google itself. This call is definitely a rip-off.

I’ve had a similar experience, and it left me quite uneasy. The caller seemed rather dodgy, asking about my business name under the guise of updating Google Maps - complete nonsense, if you ask me. I discovered that the number is associated with a firm based in India, which was implicated in the Panama Papers for some dubious dealings, including fraud and money laundering. To top it off, I received another call claiming they were acting on behalf of the IRS in the States, requesting my National Insurance Number! I’ve definitely put a stop to that nonsense.

This morning, I received a rather puzzling phone call from this number. On the line was a young woman, though her voice was rather muffled, making it hard to catch what she was saying. She inquired about the DTC bus depot in New Delhi, claiming the call was coming through Google Maps. Interestingly, she mentioned that I'm a Google Maps Local Guide (level 5), which I am, as I often contribute updates on local spots around me. It’s quite exciting, really, that I got a call from Google-definitely not something that happens every day!
