Got a call from this number but didn’t pick up, felt a bit iffy since it wasn’t saved in my phone. Figured it was probably one of those scams, so I just left it.

I got a call from this number earlier, but luckily I have Call Guardian set up so it went straight to voicemail. Of course, they never bothered to leave a message. After a quick search, I found out it’s an American scam number. Pretty dodgy if you ask me!

SCAM - Got a call the other day askin for my husband who’s been gone for over 12 years, freaked me out a bit. Luckily, the other reviews helped me realise it was dodgy. It’s terrible that these firms keep doin this and there’s nothing we can do about it! The call came from a US number like others have said. I just told them no one by that name lives here and didn’t share anything else. I’ve blocked the number now. Hopefully, this warning helps others when they check this number. Cheers!

Bloody hell! I can't figure out how they got my number. I noticed a missed call on my home phone, which I hardly ever use and only call a few trusted folks from. Seeing loads of others have reported the same number, I’m definitely blocking it now. Cheers to everyone who posted about it here.

BEWARE OF THIS! Got a call tonight from this number asking for my daughter, who moved out ages ago. A woman named Lara Fernandes said she was from WCC Group, Mergers & Acquisitions. According to her, WCC was acting as an intermediary, updating Prudential shareholders about some shady business, like insider trading. When I told her I wouldn't give out my daughter's info, she offered to send the info to me instead, so I could forward it on and my daughter could reach her at the number given. Just to be clear, my daughter has no Prudential shares or policies at all.

Got a call about some IAG shares from someone who passed away two decades ago. The caller kept pushing to talk about the shares, but I put a stop to it as soon as I told them to mind their own business. This wasn’t the first time they’d called - pretty sure I got this same call a few years back.

Got loads of calls from some dodgy lot claiming I should still be getting money from Centrica shares I sold ages ago. They wouldn't really answer any of my questions and just kept ringing me like 2 or 3 times every day over several days. In the end, I had to block the number. Proper scam, no doubt.

This number's called me before about Centrica shares, and the caller mentioned they were based in New York. Last time, as soon as my answerphone picked up, they just hung up. I’m really curious how these scammers get info about actual shareholders. Feels like Centrica might be letting something slip, possibly breaking data protection laws?

Got a dodgy call from the States claiming they want to buy my penny stocks at an outrageous price as part of some fake hostile takeover. Total rubbish, obviously. Their trick is to dangle a crazy offer of like £100,000 for your shares, but then they demand a £3000 'insurance bond' upfront so they’ll supposedly process the payment. Sounds clever, but it’s just a scam. They probably only got my details - name, address, phone number - from some hacked shareholder list floating around the dark web. Honestly, best thing to do is just hang up and don’t bother engaging with them at all!

Got a call from someone called Lucy, said she was from New York. Her English was really off, and she kept calling me Mrs followed by my first name, which felt odd. She mentioned something about me being on a list for Centrica shares and started going on about hostile takeovers and mergers. I kept asking her to repeat herself because I could barely understand, and she didn’t seem impressed by that. Surely a scam, especially since I sold all my Centrica shares years ago!

Got a call from someone wanting me to sell shares in a company I don’t even have shares in anymore. They already knew my full name and address, which was a bit worrying. When I asked where they were calling from and what firm they worked for, they said New York, claiming to be from S & S Consulting. They said it was about a client wanting to buy shares for taking over a hostel. I was told I’d need to sign a non-disclosure agreement too. The whole thing felt really dodgy. Then, just as I mentioned New York again, they hung up on me! Definitely steer clear of this one!!

Got a call from someone claiming to represent a client interested in buying shares from me. They even mentioned my name and knew I actually owned some shares. Still, it felt fishy, so I told them to send me a letter instead and hung up. Pretty sure it was a scam.

This was totally a scam call, they claimed I had shares to sell. Definitely steer clear of these sorts of ringers!

Like other people have said, this one smells like a scam. They called about buying shares for some hostile takeover thing, promising up to 50% above market price. I know their name, phone number and address, but I asked them to send me details through the post. Honestly, I doubt I’ll get anything in the mail.

Got a call from overseas, the person on the line had a distinctly Chinese accent.

The person on the phone seemed to know about an old investment I once made, but it was really outdated and not important anymore. They acted like I was still a shareholder and wanted to chat about a takeover bid. What freaked me out was that they had my phone and address, so it looks like some company records might’ve been leaked. I didn’t give any more details and told them to send me a letter instead. I’ve also blocked the number and now I’m just hanging around for the letter to arrive.

I got a call from someone saying they were with a 'mergers and acquisitions company', talking about shares I supposedly owned in some firm. She insisted on speaking with me before sending any docs about the company's situation. I told her I’d verify everything on the internet first, but she claimed all the info was super confidential. Also, she mentioned she was calling from Europe and couldn’t give me a number to ring her back. Felt like a total scam to me.

I got a call around 6.10 in the evening where the person mentioned some shares I supposedly own. Since it was well after usual work hours, I figured it was dodgy and ended the call quickly. Years back, I had a similar call coming from the States, and when I called them out as a scammer, they got really nasty with me.

I got a call from a woman speaking with an East Asian accent, but using an American phone number. She asked for my wife by name, which was odd since she passed away two years ago. Then she started talking about shares that my wife never had. She ended the call straight away after that. It all felt very dodgy and possibly some kind of scam. Definitely seemed risky.

Got a call out of the blue about my husband needing to sell some Santander shares he supposedly owns - which he definitely doesn’t. The caller seemed to know his name and mentioned our past with the Leicester account that turned into Santander. Bit unsettling really, or maybe just a lucky guess? She didn’t mind chatting to me instead of him, even though I’m not the one she's after. Pretty sure it was a scam, so I ended the call fairly quickly, but I bet they’d have pushed for bank info if I’d stayed on. We’ve heard stories like this before.

Some bloke calling himself Alan Sanders rang me up wanting to speak to me specifically, and strangely, he already knew where I lived. Got a call from a woman with an American accent claiming to talk about my IAG shareholdings. She said she represented a firm interested in a hostile takeover of IAG. Oddly, she had all my personal info - name, address, even how many shares I owned - but wasn’t sure if I still held any.
